gotcha,

In you opinion Jay, what is the best set structure for 2 world class players on a bartable to show which player is truely better?

thanks for the reply,
Ian

You'll never find out who is the best player. You'll find out who was "on" that day.

Like I have said before. I want to see Corey give Walden the eight on a Valley with worn felt and a mudball. Not metallic cue ball, the giant mudball. When I think barbox, this is what I think of. Not many bars have Diamonds with a measle ball and Simonis. "Barboxes are in bars." The kind of tables you guys are talking about are just smaller poolroom style tables. You can "soft break" and baby the balls. I am talking real bar action. Where the money is on the light and music so loud you can't hear to side bet. Corey has that break down to a science, no doubt. But I want to see the situation break down like they have just ran into eachother and matched up in a bar. Like it happens for most of us. Not "I'll play with a neutral racker, 860 Simonis, 68 degree room, Diamond table and a referee." Know what I mean?

Yeah, kinda like playing in that biker bar The Broke Spoke, which only had 14 balls and you had to catch the first one made and say, "the 7 is now the 3 ball."
You not only had to 'fight' your way out, but you had to FIGHT your way IN. The barmaid only had three teeth and they were all on the bottom. 'Call shot' meant you had to call every little bump, touch, triple kiss, etc. and pray that your opponent heard it.
Getting out 'with the cash' was a passage to adulthood.

i think we all know who is the better player. all we will find out is who matches up better. if jesse has a high dollar stake horse thats great, but if corey is willing to play for 20000, then i agree that some what of a guarantee(posting no show/punk out money) before boarding a plane for vegas only to meet with more TALK about matching up. post up and play and quit talking. otherwise its all long distance woofing, nothing more.

I like these games too. Played a few myself. It was all big ball in the old days, when Bakersfield Bobby, Peter Gunn, Junior Weldon and Big Sergio were the Kings of the West Coast. Keith, Buddy and David Matlock layed it down pretty good too.

If its a lock, why wouldn't the game have been played already?

I don't understand why people ignore the fact that Jess accepted their original offer. So did several others that were shoulder to shoulder with Jamie this weekend.

Further, when they tried to make it sound like they didn't go because Jess might back down when they get there...he had Duff POST THE $$$ FOR HIM LAST NIGHT.

Jess keeps slamming that ball right back in their court like Andre F'IN Agassi.

Jesse was posting on the chat in the action repoert. He point blank said he did not have anyone to post money in Olathe. I am sure someone can check the archives. It doesnt matter. Jesse is the greatest, but needs the 8. Congrats

LOL, Jesse said in front of 250 people in chat that Duff would post the money for him. I guess you must have missed that.

Also, what about McWhorter not being able to come up with the money for Corey to play Shane a game that was agreed upon? How will you spin this one?

Biker bars

I took a lot of money out of biker bars both in NY & FL. I can't remember ever having much of a problem getting out with the money...I'm only a little guy...so I had a gift of gab so most would like me even though I was taking their money. Drug dealers, goons, and thiefs were the easiest to get out with your money...they didn't work for it. Try getting out of some of the blue collar redneck bars in the 1950's and 60's. They worked for their money and didn't give it up withoiut a fight. Of course they could hustle...that was alright. Johnnyt

I am taking Scotty Townsend in this place;) ;)

It was nice to meet you Don. Also, thanks for the ride and the good conversation. Maybe after I learn the game a little better we could play some one hole next year.

Because I know everyone and their dog will be there next year.

Logistics:

I have done a lot of gambling in my time. Not the 20k variety but enough to get my heart rate up.

How exactly DOES one POST the money on a long distance matchup. Who holds it? How does the money get to where it is supposed to go?

Jess is in Vegas - Jamie in Olathe. So If Billy/Jamie want show up money posted where does it get posted? Even if Duff would have posted whatever was asked for how would it have gone down?

All this is bullshit. Jamie McWhorter and Billychips may have lots of gamble and lots of heart but they HAVE NO SENSE. Who cares about fading the trip to Vegas when you are shooting at millions? I can personally attest to the strength of Jesse's backer.

To me the whole thing about posting long distance and show-up money is BS. If Jess offered a free ticket then take the ticket and show up. If nothing happens then fly home and ***** about it later.

I have $1000 that says Jamie McWhorter and Billy Chips won't put Corey in the Box against Jesse Bowman in Las Vegas anytime before 2008. Any takers? Oh and you have to post your bet before we bet, I don't know how we can do it but I am sure we can argue about the logistics for a while on the net about it. :-)

Well, I can think of a lot of worse place to be trapped with or with out money, but with money... I like my chances in Vegas to have a blast. If it sucks for you then the trip home is close to the airport, anyways I have never heard of anyone saying man that trip to Vegas just sucked, literally ( ) and figuratively ( :( )
I guess I can understand why you wouldn't want to go out there with the chance to hook up with Jesse anyways, sounds like a lose lose situation. If you get played you'll lose, and if you dont and you just gamble and bit krunked up and have hookers and dancing girls all night you lose (I think)...

Those times are long gone. Cue balls on the valley's are smaller and much lighter, felt is almost always fairly fast. Yester year is yester year.
