Dippy Dave takes 27 grand off Bustamante?

When you spot a "sucker" the breaks, ball-in-hand, and extra money balls, you're not in control. With that spot, a bad player can run a lot of racks, and you can only run 1 (because you gave up the break). It's not about how good you are, it's only about how bad the "sucker" is. And if you thought he was a D- player, and it turns out he's C+, you might just be busted, no matter who you are.

If I am not mistaken I dont think dave got the 4 out I believe the spot was the break, bih after the break the 4 ball and the last 4.

How do you give out that kind of weight to a guy you haven't known for like 5 years?

- Steve

people who have been on the road know this guy.I first ran into him around 10 years ago in Charolette,NC.He is born into afamily that is loaded with money.A prominent poker player told me that Dippy`s Family owns cleveland football team.darren appleton and Shane Vanboening gave dippy the same weight playing 1-pocket and they both beat him for a nice change.Darren played before Busty .Dippy wanted to raise the bet with Darren.Darren felt that I discouraged him not to play anymore and hence missed the chance of making some more from dippy.Darren gave him 15-4 and break.few days prior to this Darren was steaked by Archie the greek and lost some change. That is all about dippy for now.

I'll tellem..... LOL! Randolph Lerner owns the Browns and IIRC he probably isn't much older than Dippy.

The rumor used to be that his family owned TicketMaster....

Gamblers chase big money and I guess it doesn't hurt to have people think you have billion $ money in the blood line.... Hustle, hustle, hustle!

Ship it!

haha, this I have no answer for.. I just know it's happening. Seems kinda crazy to me... :)

Well something like this. Dave had been spreading seed money around the pool room for a few days before the game with Shane ever happened. Dave had played Appelton 15-4 one pocket 4 ahead for $5,000 (Dave won) not because Dave did anything special but because I watched that match I can say the Appleton is not a good one pocket player. ( I think Appletons high run was 5 balls during the match)
Plus dave had been playing another player races to 10 for a $1,000 with Break/ ball in hand after the break (even if he scratched) wild 4 & last four, no games on the wire though. Dave was looser in this game. Who knows? maybe that other player and Dave are working together fishing that heavy spot around looking for takers at huge money:thumbup:

I was there betting on Shane. The whole looked very fishy to me, but I won a few bucks betting on Shane.

I was only informed by a prominent poker player and I don`t know the truth.

Dippy is self made dyed in the wool gambler. I got down with him about 15 years ago while he was still in Cleveland. Nobody ever gave him credit because he acted so goofy but he is an EXCELLANT handicapper at pool and has good game selection at poker. He will send it and that reputation has made him a lot of money. The stories of him being from a rich family don't hold water imo this guy grinded his way to the biggest poker games through his ability and being at the right place at the right time (playing high stakes at the beginning of the poker boom those were the days)

GoGo Dippy Dave
