Dress Code at Derby?

who offer me a loaner.

I went to a fancy Internet Cafe once and they offered me a Spell Check.

I said, "their are lots of Internet Cafes in LA. I will go wear I is well come".

Bruce, you are truly a Spruce amongst all the Fir trees.

Speaking of that, I was at a Piano Bar last night. The piano player was drunker than a skunk. He took a break and went to the wash room. When he came out, I noticed that he forgot to zip himself back up.

I said to him, "Do you know your penis is hanging out"?
He said, "no, but if you hum a few bars, I could probably do it".

Absolutely zero to do with a dress code tho.

My question is who is going to check everybody to make sure they aren't wearing shorts under their pants?

And they want no job, sounds like the theory is proven.

Pool will never be s "job" like nfl, mlb, nba, ect even if everybody wore a tuxedo. Dressing up doesn't have a thing to do with it. It will never be even near the same level as tennis. I'm not saying it's ok to play in a Speedo and a wife beater but nothing wrong with jeans and t-shirt as long a there's nothing offensive on em.

I think it should at least be equal to what is required to get onto any golf course which is a colored shirt and no jeans or other raggedy looking outfit.

You are the result or 4 billion years of evolutionary success.

Act like it.

(Or in this case, dress like it as well.)

It's sad enough (to me) that you need to tell people that a T shirt is the wrong thing to wear, but I understand I'm not typical. Even so, it's really bad when we have to worry about how people might react if they are told they can't wear one.

I'm surprised the PGA Tour, given their very limited success financially, hasn't loosened up on their dress code. No doubt in my mind, if the millions of fans tuned in and suddenly saw all the players in t shirts and cut off jeans, I'm absolutely certain that would have zero impact on the ratings and the sponsorships.

The Demographic that makes golf such a lucrative sport for the Professionals is exactly the demographic missing with pool. Those who don't think image plays a part in that are simply kidding themselves. Obviously, there are many other factors but that is a significant one. Were I running a professional pool tournament, the dress code would be khakis and collared shirt as a minimum. And it would be strictly enforced. Not because I'm a ***** but because I love the game and want to see those incredibly skilled players start to get paid what they should be getting paid.

I tend to favor a dress code and respect the right of any promoter to set it.

Still, my greatest concern is how people dress on the stream table. Wearing T-shirts, sleeveless shirts, overalls, backward baseball caps or earphones should, in my view, all be loss-of-match infractions on the stream table. And yes, I've seen all of them at least once over the years.

Having said that, though, most players make themselves presentable for streamed matches.

It's Indiana in late January. Why the hell is anyone wanting to wear shorts in the first place.

Dress for the job you want, not the one you have.

FWIW, can ANYBODY explain in LOGIC to ME WTF the "pants on the ground" fashion is all about?

I don't care WHO you are, but I'm not expecting or believing ANYONE who says "comfort" or "functionality" is part of the equation.

If it is STRICTLY for "fashion", then where has society gone wrong allowing this to occur. I'm sure people will argue back with "Beatle haircuts, high-heel shoes, etc., etc" but I don't think that any of those fashions had anybody's naked nasty ass being exposed to the PUBLIC and being passed off as NORMAL.

Excellent observation H.E. !..If juvenile, ass crack exposing, is the image we want to portray for pool, then by all means, relax the dress code !..I myself like to walk around the house, in my skivie's. (with genitals hanging out, wherever)

However, if I am going out in public, (even just to the convenience market)..I prefer to look like a sucsessful member of society..But, maybe I am just old fashioned..Maybe looking like a broke, homeless bum, is really what we need to upgrade the image of pool !

I totally agree..If ass-crack exposure, and mustard stained t-shirts are going to promote the image of pool, then something is seriously wrong !..I walk around the house, in my skivies, with my genitals hanging out all the time..But, if I leave the house, even just to go to a convenience store, I will put on a clean shirt and try to look like a normal member of society !

Maybe I am just 'old fashioned' but I don't think shoddy dress, and a backwards cap, is the way to project a favorable image of our game..Dress codes should be strictly enforced...Ass-cracker's should be shot on sight !

PS..Women without shirts, is totally acceptable ! ;)

The ass-exposing "sagging" thing was explained to me by my best friend that works at a state prison here in Tn.

It's a prison culture thing. Guys you see wearing their pants like that are trying to show you that they have a "vacancy",in other words they don't/didn't belong to someone else in a dominant position.

But a LOT of the people you see continue the trend on the street just thought it looked cool, and copied it.

To HELL with that...Tommy D.

what?!?!

back-up Tennessee. so when they cinch their jeans via belt, tight below their ass @ thighs, and have to waddle as they walk (for obvious reasons), exposing both their crotch AND their ass, then
wha - ?

all i know, is that my 13yr son has a clear understanding, that if i EVER catch him like that....then with o-n-e finger through his beltloop, i'll drop his drawers in front of God and everyone!!!!

i can't wait to pass this info to him. thank you.

This was my thought as well.

And as I type that, I realize that when I drop my son off at the high school, here in Maine, I see kids wearing shorts, too...hell, I can't get my kid to wear a coat some times.

I don't get it, either.
