Is there anyone out there that thinks that Earl can win the match with Shane Nov. 14th in Louisville. I will be at the table with Earl the entire match. I am racking his balls. I am looking for partners.
If you think Earl can win call me at 864-458-7662.

I'm one of the biggest Earl fans in the world. My heart's with you. After last weekend, I'd want a partner or two (or three) as well.

I am a big Earl fan too! But..... After seeing Shane play the past few times that I have, it would be very hard to bet against him. His play has been incredible. Good luck to both players.

Good luck Mike. I will say this - the odds on Earl should be going through the roof and you stand to make a bundle if your team can bet with great odds.

I don't count Earl out. If monsterplayer 2 time WC and 5 time US OPEN champ shows up then SVB will NOT like it one bit.

But I cannot bet on him against this kid - SVB is this generation's Earl Strickland/Buddy Hall rolled into one. He seems to get stronger each time he comes to the table.

I think Earl 'can' win - just not as much as you are looking for. :-)

Good luck and to Earl - show us your greatness again!

Does Earl have the natural talent and ability to win. Without a DOUBT.

Is his mental concentration, focus, etc all there to withstand a race of that magnitude? I just don't think so - and I've been a huge Earl fan for a LONG LONG time.

Will I be rooting for him? Yes! I was rooting for Corey too.

Shane doesn't need my rooting. He just runs out, runs out, runs out.

Can somebody refresh me on what the action game will be? Is it one race to 100? That seems to be my memory, but I may be wrong.

With Mike racking, does that mean the entire match will have have all games racked by another individual, rather than the player himself?

Will there be a mechanical rack utilized or a wooden rack?

Inquiring minds wanna know! :p

This is what the Action Report posted related to the two events coming up.

I don't think the "details", such as racking rules and such, have been announced.

lol mike you perhaps could have worded that a bit better :D

in all seriousness JAM, it's just a case of racking up in such a long race can get tiring so mike's gonna do it. let earl focus on delivering his break instead.

Hello Mike

I was at the US Open this past Sat. Standing out by the tent that they have set up to sit under..and there were a few pro players out side when i made the comment im about to post. I was talking to two guys who were from Carolina who just opened up a new pool room down there. I told them that i had heard that Earl had gotten back with his wife..which they said wasnt true...I told them this and said it loud enough for anyone around me to hear....

"When Earl the Pearl is on and focused...there not a guy here at the open or on the Planet who can beat him"

And i meant it!!
I would love to see earl get his life and focus in order and just go on a tear and do what he loves to do which is shoot pool and WIN

Who will be racking THE pool balls for SVB? At least now Earl can make a ball on the break... Seriously, Mike, you should try something like match.com or craigslist.com if your looking for a partner to rack balls with.....

The game is rack your own. Earl wanted Mike to rack for him so that is how it will work. As usual each player can inspect the others rack. If there is an issue we will resolve it quickly and quietly.

Maybe!

Maybe & Maybe NOT!

When Earl matched up with BJ Ussery in Greensboro recently Earl made quite a fuss over BJ's racking. Earl complained about everything including the rack itself, the time it took to rack and you name it. I like and respect Earl but watching him complain about the racking, the lighting, the owners, the spectators, well you get the picture. Earl will be lots of things but resolving the issues will NOT be quick or quiet. FWIW I saw this live & in person...

I missed you on the Open. Where were you?

As far as Earl matching up with Shane, the guys who are putting this up are either out of their freaking mind or they just love to lose money!!

Shane will run all over Earl as if he isn't there. You'll be watching and staring at the tire threads on Earl's forehead after the match. Alcano is one of the greatest players now and look what Shane did to him. The kid is on top of his game nowadays.

Matt, you know where my loyalty lies when it comes to pool but I have to admit that Shane deserved to win the US Open!! I have nothing but admiration for this young fellow. He is a hell of a pool player!

As with Earl, people who still backs him up live in the Dark Ages.. Wake up and smell the coffee with Shane and Alcano!!!

bayawak aka tirador
You got the 8 for life!!!!!

Hey

Me and my buddy got to pick four people to win the us open

His pics were
Rodney Morris
Johnny Archer
Mike Davis
Corey Duel

Mine were
Jose Parrica
Ronnia Alcano
Shane Van Boeing
Fransico Bustamante

I didnt pick to bad. As for Shane..damn i wana be like mike I wana be like shane. As for the post about those who still support earl are in the dark ages its like this.

Its kinda like race cars..you have the new computer fuel controlled, Nos boost, turbo equiped rice burrners that are ripping the track to shreds..but then you have that old good old american muscle car ..well sure there are times when that new car gona get the old one..but if you have the right person working on the muscle car and they put it togeher right..you just can beat good old fashion muscle power.but the muscle car has to be perfect and everything in tune and right...the new car..has all the tools to win and can perform..but you cant count that muscle car out...to me Earl is a muscle car that just is completly out of tune..the power is still there, and capable of ripping past that new shinny turbo equiped car..but he gona have to be fireing on all Cylinders, perfect fuel to air ratio..tires gona have to warmed up,,and he gona have to have one hell of a hook up off the line..haha..but dont count earl out just yet.

as for Ktwon asking me if i wanted some of his action...MAAANNn that a tough as question..i have faith..but faith aint always enough...at this point i would say No..earl has not shown that he is in tune, well greased muscle car ready to bend the damn frame and pop out the back glass from off the line yet. but i know he still has it in him. And you cant blame fans for being loyal to their favorite player..i have said in the past i dont support his actions but i love him as just a pool player

Sounds like some great challange matches. However, why dont they just play one set for the 10k. There really seems no real point for one person to win one set then one player wins the other, then they scrap all of that great playing just to play one set for the money.

Give the old muscle a new tech, like NOS, and watch tear up the track.

Give Earl a real cue, and he'll perform like he should, 1 pocket champ style.

Earl will put up a better results than Corey did. Experience is on his side, you can't sub that out for a hot streak the young SVB seems to be on right now.
