Famous 3-Cushion world record run.

Many have run more than 28, but only in practice. For example, at Carom Cafe in Queens, NY, the room in which occasionally play billiards, Hugo Patino has run 31.

Unlike pool, three cushion takes itself seriously and players that run out a match in competition do not complete their runs.
more like some
sayginer is said to have done it as well
but not many more than that

Was the equipment in '93 the same as today? Simonis 300, heated tables, European cushions?
...
I first saw European tables (Italian) in 1966 when there was an invitational tournament in San Francisco. Heated, 2- or 3-inch slate, and Simonis. The Simonis would have been carom cloth, which is much faster than 860. Komori's run would have been on a table like that. Ceulemans and McGoorty played in the 1966 tournament.

In the US, Gold Crowns were far less common than older Brunswicks and then European tables. I don't think GCs were used for the national championship, ever. Many Nationals were played at the original California Billiards in San Jose. They had one of the original Italian tables from 1966 and four or five antique Brunswicks.

Some other info about Caudron's 28 run...

This was in the 2013 European Championship against Marco Zanetti in Brandenburg, Germany. At the start of the run, Caudron trailed 3-15. The run put him ahead 31-15 going to 40. That was not enough. Marco won the match. From an article on Kozoom:

Marco Zanetti made five more points, brought the score to 36-34 for Caudron and two innings later to 37-35, but then decided the game with a run of five (40-37 in 12/11).
I hate it when I average over 3, run 28, and still lose the match. Caudron actually had a higher average than Zanetti as he had one fewer innings.

My personal high run is 24 in an exhibition game against my mentor Ernie Presto in 1983 at State & Madison Billiards in Rockford, IL.
I missed a 5 rail Natural for #25 by a 1/4 inch!

Two 16's in sanctioned tournament.

I got a fistful of 7s.

You probably have a few bucketfuls of those?

Enjoyable read here, people.

My 3 Cushion high run is 0.

I got a chance to try it almost 10 years ago. Our game of 3 cushion turned into 1 cushion. Which then transformed into straight rail.

Guilty. I had a student in Savanah, GA. that has a 9' Soren Soggard 3C table. I purchased that table for him.
The first time I played on that table I ran so many 7's and 8's I stopped keeping track. That 1' less difference is Huge for making better contact on the OB.

Impressive. I only play three cushion a few times a year, and my high run is nine, which I have done twice.

I think 9 on a 10 ft is impressive. Curious what others think about comparing it to a 14.1 run? I guess 150?

I'd say a run of nine at three cushion is more like a straight pool run of 60 give or take. Almost all of the serious three cushion amateurs I know have run a nine. I only know of a couple people in my area who have run over 100 at 14.1 and both are short stop to low pro level players.

The equivalent of running 150 at 14.1 would be at least a run of 15 for three cushion in my opinion. Still, a run of nine is an excellent run and commendable.

That's pretty close.
