While assisting the family on getting his work straightened out I was given permission to take a few shots. It wasn't my normal camera so it was on a very low setting. I will be going over in a few weeks so I'll snap a few more...

He was working on some new shorty splice techniques that evolved from a cue he saw by Tex / John Bender. So he took that little point diamond and started fiddling around with it and was coming up with some very interesting layouts.

It makes my head hurt, just trying to understand how he thought up those techniques. We lost a true innovator, something that is really rare in this day and age.
 
Oh man, he was on the verge of setting an even higher benchmark....so sad that he didn't have a few more days to bring his ideas to fruition.

I wish I had a chance to meet him.

Those are amazing. Absolutely amazing!!! Paul was a legend. A true innovator. Its tragic that his loss means a lot of those techniques he used are lost too.

Maybe you could share these with a few cuemakers in hopes that some might try to replicate not only the work in some of these cues but the experimental nature that Paul emplyed in order to conceive new ideas, designs, and techinques. It would be such a shame if some of this stuff was lost forever as a result of Paul's passing.

Thanks for sharing the pics. Paul's work always blew my mind.

He will be missed.
 
Those end pics answer several questions that this amateur was thinking when looking at some of Paul's work. Innovative and stunning. Thanks for sharing, Joe.

Please sell me the Bottom Cue, let me know the diggits, this would looks near as I want order before he passed away RIP Paul.

Wow, was there any cuemaker out there that pushed the envelope like Paul.

Fanelli was pushing the splicing techniques in a different direction than everyone else and making his own way.
His passion seems to have been in splicing and discovering new designs in the wood through that.
I doubt it would have crossed my mind to recut the laminated points, but I hope it would've. In my opinion, it is what "made" some of the splices above so interesting.
