The only female cuemaker that I can think of made Annie-O cues, however, I believe that she is no longer with us.

I have 6 lathes. One of them is my wife's. She has been helping me with repairs, for over 20 years. She turns all of my stock from square to round & does a lot of the shaft trning. She's good...JER

Lauri Franklin of Southwest Cues.

Dick

I don't think she gets enough recognition. She is not only one of the few Women cue makers, but also one of the few cue makers period, that reside in the upper echelon of our craft. Can she actually make cues? I don't know, but I do know without her SW is probably nowhere after Jerry passed.

Vicci Gilbert (Andys wife) does pretty much ALL of their inlays now!

So did Pat Schrager. She did almost all the Pantograph work on Bert's cues.
Jana Fields from Texas dabbles a little in cue building, but primarily does repairs.

i think my wife is more into the design aspect she wants to design inlays and wood schemes. maybe ill get a inlay machine one day, and give it to her for X-mas:eek:

That is great that she is interested in the craft!

Many of the best Marksmen historically wear actually Markswomen. The Russians learned this early on. Women tend to be steadier and have a great eye for detail.

Probably why they excel at inlay work...

Lindas cues, I think she's from the philippines and makes very nice cues. my so called better half Shari helps out in the shop turning shafts, facing , gluing veneers helping out kind of stuff.

Good plan Trent, and then certain aspects of your life that you generally take for granted will come to an abrupt stop, at least for awhile.

My wife Sheila has expressed some interest in learning how to clean and maintain her cues on the lathe, so thats a good start. She also wanted to turn pens so I bought her a mini lathe, but it wasn't for Xmas.

Does this mean we have a lady cuemaker member of AZBilliards????

That was a great question Trent. I was wondering the same thing yesterday but by the time I got back on I forgot to post the question. Good job
