I have a nice, unique Olivewood and Black Palm Sugartree cue for sale. This is a real unique looking cue, and the play is super. There are no dings of any kind.

The shaft has some bluing and the olivewood forearm has some checks/surface cracks that were there when the wood was being turned. The checks/surface cracks were filled with epoxy and cleared by Eric (please read Eric's explaination below and take a look at the bottom pic). They are minor and do not affect the play of the cue. Eric has stated that a refinish would take care of them, but I personally don't feel that it is a requirement. If desired, Eric will make a second standard shaft for the cue for $100, or an old-growth shaft for $200. The finish on the butt is 99%.

Specifications:
Olivewood forearm and butt sleeve
Black palm handle
Joint- 3/8x10 Stainless
Checkered ringwork at A/B/E
Weight- 19.6 Ounces
Length- 58 inches
Ferrule- LBM 12.5mm
Balance point- 18 1/2 inches from butt
Signed by Eric on the butt sleeve

Reduced---$800 delivered to Eric Crisp...see later posts!!!

Boy, you got that right. This cue is a great player with real good balance and feel....very responsive.

I also forgot to mention (but most folks that have dealt with me know it already), partial trades, etc for quality cues/cash are always an option.

Anyone interested in this cue should read the entire thread below, so they can make a well-informed purchase decision and avoid any hard feelings for either party --

And I think you "Sugartree jealous haters" need to realize when Erik says a cue is sound and good to go, he knows 100% what he is talking about.

Bump for a great cue and even greater person to do business with.

Thanks all. This is a very nice cue. The play is tremendous and the look is very unique. As for the surface cracks/checks in the forearm, it seems that Eric's West treatment for stabilization has been extremely successful. After several years of play, there have not been any cracks develop or lengthen, etc. The finish is still just as nice as the day Eric sprayed it. Here are Eric's comments on his treatment of the wood.....

There were hairline surface checks in the wood to begin with, from square. I have a method I use to stabilize woods like olive to seal the checks, prevent warpage & any further checking. It is a west system/acetone mix that is mixed to an appropriate viscosity to penetrate the wood much as chemical penetrants do. It soaked in the mix for 36 hours, then given a week for the solution to cure. Basically, it's epoxy impregnated olivewood. This is a method I borrowed from fine/intricate woodworking that is used to stabilize burls, soft woods & other unstable woods. I put my own twist on it, substituting epoxy for acrylic plastic but otherwise the method is the same. I have absolutely no doubt as to it's strength & stability, as I have used this method often & for a long time. --Eric Crisp, Sugartree Cues

Socks,
I added the pics below Eric's description of what he did to treat the cue, as well as adding them to the original composite photo. The cue has a very firm, stiff hit.

I'm tired of seeing this cue. For $250, I will replace the forearm, use my current style flat thread joint pin, and provide a new 13mm shaft. I don't care who pays for the work, buyer or seller, matters none to me. I'll do the work for whomever sends it to me.

The cracks will no longer be an issue. The cue will be as brand new again.

Dang Eric, your making me want to buy it. Wonder if I could sell off some fishing poles and reels....hmmmm

btw...cracks that are epoxied shouldn't matter to anyone. If you didn't know Eric's a bit of a quality control freak, so if he says its good its good. At least that has been my experience with him. The cue I'm sure plays as good as anything out there.

Alright, folks, Eric has offered his part of the fix for the nay-sayers (I have to honestly say, though, that there isn't S@#t wrong with this cue). I will reduce the price of this cue to $800 SHIPPED TO ERIC CRISP of Sugertree cues. Then, the winner can arrange payment, shipment and any thing else that they would like with Eric, and pay him directly for his services. Then you will have a brand new, unique Sugartree cue with 2 shafts (the old 12.5mm one and the new one Eric is willing to make) for a fraction of the cost.
