What I don't get about this guy is if the shaft is so good *and* he is a player himself why would he need to bring in another player for the bet?!? For all his shit talk I figured he would back it up himself.

My point is I could claim to be a cue maker and make a POS and hand it to Strickland and he would still mop the floor with most players.
 
I've read this entire thread and I feel like I'm actually dumber now. Thanks. I don't know Mr. Barioni, and I don't care about him or his cues either. I'm not being rude, just saying he is not a cue maker I would seek advice or use advice from. Paul Dayton and Joey B. are two guys who know cues and know what it takes to make a fine playing and beautiful cue. The most important thing is that their cues have a reputation for playing great. What if Tim Scruggs, or Paul Mottey, or Gus, or Barry, or Tony, or Ernie came in this thread and said Mr. Barionis shafts weren't worth it, and it was all bs? Would people argue with those guys? I doubt it. I don't care what he charges, they are his and he can do as he pleases with them. My only problem with Mr. Barioni is his attitude, and his blatent disrespect of some known reputable cue makers. As for the $600 shafts? Don't hate the player, hate the game fellas.

OMG...my eyes are burning from reading this whole thread. I will say one thing tho....YOU GUYS ARE GONNA SH*T YOUR PANTS IF HIS "RE-WORKED" SHAFTS ARE FOUND TO BE THE NEW PHASE, AND THE REAL DEAL.

I'm not siding with anyone here on this topic....but wouldnt you fall flat on your face if you found out that most of the pros were using his shafts, and keeping it a secret for themselves ? :rolleyes:

I think that its more likely that a monkey will fly outta their a ss and make the shot for them, than using one of his shafts.

However, I actually do have a few butt monkeys left for $1200 a piece if anyone is interested.

Your right about one thing. I don't care!! I am way backed up on cue orders and couldn't send new orders out till the end of this year. I really don't care how many members the board has. The more the better.

Look, get it through you head. I can care less if I ever sell another cue. I have been building cues for almost 10 years now and have already built up enough reputation to retire on. I can survive on my tournament winnings. The less players out there that have my cue the easier it is for me to win. All the people out there that have one of my cues, which a great percentage of them have 2 or 3 still have them and will not give them up. Besides your friend probably would not weight a year to get his cue any way. Hopefully I play your friend in Vegas next year. By then my cues will be $2000 and that is if I like him enough to even sell him one.

I don't know you but you are a true human being of the highest. It took a lot of nuts to post this and I thank you. I apologize to you and any one else on this forum that has not through stones at me if I offended you. I said some vulgar things but it was well deserved in my opinion. I grew up in a rough town in a rough pool hall and am very used to barking and mouth karate. Some times I have to realize that other States and Country's have a little more Etiquette.

We laugh at you here in California. Bert Kinister is by far a better teacher and way more knowledgeable than you will ever be. And the same for Hal Mix and the new guy Dominic Esposito. I only wish I had have taken a pic or two of your shaft when I had it on my lathe. If I remember correctly, it didn't light up the shop.

I know this response I am posting here really does not pertain to the quote but- I thought for a second that pic you have was a 65 or 66 Chevelle. Nice car and great equipment. Cars were my first love. I had a custom body shop for about 15 years. Matter of fact the guy who built my robot, him and I turned out a few cars at his shop a couple years ago. I have a 57 Chevy P.U. Pro Streeted. Has a 350 bored .060 over, steel crank. Corrolo rods, 205 intake valves closed chambers, 11-1 pop-ups with a tunnel ram on juice- just a plate system, old pete jackson gear drive and of course my 2 holleys- 650 double pumpers. I guess as car guys we are always trying to shave that second in the quarter mile. I guess that explains why I am now trying to shave that 1/16" off that squirt/cueball deflection. Wow, question for ya, do they gripe about the price of Aries pistons or Corollo Rods. I know a bunch of guys that have 50K just in their engine. Any ways Nice car. Oh, you running Alcohol, Trick, Octane Boost?
