George Balabushka primer and cue info

great

That new site is fantastic. You guys did a great job of giving a lot of people some insight into Balabushkas that we would have a hard time finding. I personally want to thank you guys for sharing thirty years or so of info.

Steve,
Thanks, it's one benefit to being in it for the long haul as Mark has been. Mark has dedicated his life to pool, and not from the hustlers end either. A cue expert as both a dealer and collector, a table mechanic, a champion player, and a high end room owner. I am glad he decided to do this, it's the most often asked question, even at the Hopkins show.

Great info and pictures, you guys got some nice stuff and deserve a lot of credit for sharing it to educate the public. Will you be doing this for Szamboti, Rambo, Paradise, ect, ect, or because Mark is considered the Balabushka guy the website will stay focused on George Balabushka cues?

LOL You're about the 10th person to ask this question already... Mark and I have been discussing the possibilities of both Szamboti and Paradise.

hey

What do you mean, your tossing it around.....LOL...........Mark has owned and knows just as much about Gus cues as he does the Bushkas. Tell him to get on the stick and do it again, about Gus. I would love to get the information and so would everyone else, I am sure. My thanks in advance, to the Gus Szambotti site at Classic Cues..............................................

:) At least you know and said it before me. Yes he has owned and sold a lot of Gus Szamboti cues. Hey we need to get in gear for the meet and greet.

Bushka Specs

Joe,
Both you and Mark did an excellant job of putting together the Bushka web page. I know how Mark likes to keep somethings secret but this information will be useful for some.

Best Regards,
Hal

Hey JV,

Great primer! It's real nice of you and Mark to share info that I've heard a hundred people ask about. Everyone seemed to know a few things (like the brown Brunswick bumper and the straight grained maple forearm), but this is the best info I've ever seen in one place.

Thank God you didn't mention any of the "real tells", though, like the special wrap insert hole or the unique symbol under the bolt tang that positively ID's ALL real Bushkas, or we would never be able to find any deals...;) !

Regards,

Steve

Steve,
One of the greatest myths is this...

TANG%20ORANGE.JPG

So you'll see no mention of tang(s)... plus I heard he liked grape tang.. not orange :)

Joe,

I actually meant the three finger throwout tang. You know, the special one under the C joint :D ...

Steve

What an awesome web page. We should all be thankful that Mark is willing to share his vast experience in this field with us all. I learned more about Bushka identification in half an hour with him (whilst at SBE) than I have accumulated in 12 years of cue collecting. I wouldn't make a Bushka purchase without contacting him first for verification thats for sure.
