If you were lucky enough to have checked up one "Y" chromosome short and can play pool,,,,,, have I got good news for you.

You don't have to travel to the Republic Of The Philippines to get the 7 ball and win a ton of cash. You also don't have to play anyone with the first name, Shane, Cory, Alex, Ralf, Johnny, Gabe, Larry, Brian, Stevie or John.

What is required of you and/or your backer is cash and a lot of heart. You will not have to sit and watch a player run out on you with the looks of a Minnesota Fats. Rather, the player you will be watching run out on you more resembles a Tom Curise. So, although you will probably "Dog-It" it will be a pleasurable experience.

All of you pool detectives can put this in the street and on the net. Simply let me hear from you and the details can be worked out. BTW, this is the gentleman you ladies will be playing.

The former US Open Champion is only going to give up the 7 ball? Alex gives up more weight than that against champions.

I agree with you Hemi, the backer needs a TON of heart to accept just the 7 ball considering the general opinion that most women can't get there against shortstops.

I would think that a US Open Champion needs to put more on the table and adjust if it's out of line.

Would you be willing to bet something if the game were say one set of 10 ball and one set of snooker on a regulation English snooker table? I only suggest it because the best female players also happen to have snooker backgrounds. So it's only fair to play their game as well.

Ask Reed if he still has the Mosconi Cup case we made for him in 1998.

Anyway, this is an interesting challenge, ought to get another men vs. women debate going as if we didn't have enough of those already.

Isn't that a bit like challenging a girl to a weight lifting contest? Even the best breaking women can't match the power of the elite men players; and the break is of supreme importance in such a contest.

Would the challenge be open to a woman if she had a designated male to break for her?? If so, I can think of a couple of candidates to get into the box. Does your horse play straight pool? There might be some local players interested in that contest if the game was fair.

Now there's a visualization for the ages. Little Alex would probably make a cute chick. Especially in the 10"spiked heels, mini skirt and wig of our choice he would have to wear.

I think I could do without even a mental visualization of Alex in drag. Wouldn't surprise me to see a couple of the more feminine looking try that though. I don't think they'd have a chance to win, just being dressed like that. LOL
 
With a tight rack a hard break is not needed nor even desired. I watched Bartram a few weeks ago play Shannon Murphy a set and Bartram used a soft break and made the wing ball at least seven out of 8 breaks and left the one sitting near the corner pocket and the cue ball dead in the middle of the table.

Also, when I watch the girls on the boob tube, which is seldom, all I hear is Mitch Lawrence bragging how we are being treated to get to watch the greatest pool players on the planet in action. He once was lamenting on Allison Fischer that she was the greatest pool player to ever pick up a cue. Seems as though maybe she should be giving up the spot. Of coarse, the women's pocketing ability seems to diminish when the play on a table with real pockets instead of rather large sewers. I've seen them bank a ball into the corner pocket and the ball hit the second diamond up the long rail and still go. Unbelievable.

That guy resembles Tom Cruise?
 
Been a few years since i have seen Reed play, but he held his own against some great male players at the Rack in Memphis. I believe it was 2003 or 2004.

He must be hitting em pretty sporty to offer up anything free to the best women in the world. Too bad Alli doesn't gamble, I would sure drive down to Byram and watch this take place. :)

Yes. Reed's place gives all others in the area the 7 ball. They have the greatest steaks in the south too.

Every time I got down with someone I wanted as many people in with the guy I was playing as possible. Logically, the more people that are in the more money I could make.

Ronnie likes Reed's action so I assume he would want part of this wager himself. In fact, there are quite a few Reed fans around here that just might want a piece of it. Might be a straight shooting girl could win 6 figure cash if she can only take it off.
 
I would love to see Jasmin Ouschan match up with him... pity she ain't gambling...

She breaks as hard as most of the men, and she beats the European pros on a regular basis. She has finished 9th on the eurotour, and 5th in the World 14-1 Championship, for MEN...

It is just a matter of time before she will win an open men's event, IMO.

Naaaah, Ktown. Donnie doesn't have to do anything that drastic. All he has to do is allow us to dress him to resemble one of the ladies ie 10" stiletto heels which he can not take off for any reason, super tight mini skirt, padded bra on the outside and a floor length Menonite wig. Then he's got the game. Hey, the offer was made to a woman, remember?
 
Bill, that is ridiculous that Reed only wants to give up the 7. I'm sorry to say that Karen, Allison, Jasmin...none of the girls can get there with that. I know he hasn't been playing as much or on the scene as much in the past but that boy can play, no matter how long the break. I know I had a real good time playing him a few years back in Mobile....oh wait, thats right, I shot once, I got to kick. Granted that was a race to 9 on a barbox, when he hits a gear...he really hits it. There are alot of good guy players that wouldn't even take just the 7 from him.
