Now you have made yourself the JUDGE here. That is one heck of a responsibility Nathan. There are bilions on the planet waiting for your JUDGEMENT. How about giving me mine now.
I would and have and it was not a gamble to me. It was my pleasure to help one of the best players out. Gambling puts an emphsis (sp) on a particular outcome.
That is why you are a looser in that area and why you say "Hell No". You operate out of fear of not having enough. I operate from the point of living life more abundantly thru faith. So I say "Heaven Yes". You my son will understand this one day. Then you will have the keys to the Kingdom and access to the Throne like I do. I am not trying to admonish you, I am trying to enlighten you. Explain to you the error of your way so that you also might open your heart and try to help somebody besides yourself. You see, I have found that the more you give away, the more you will recieve. I back this up with deeds and reap the rewards without Attachment to any particular outcome. Peace My Bro, Purdman

Purdman,
You don't know me. You don't know what I believe or how I treat people. Ask people that know me how I treat people and most will say, WITH RESPECT. I try to give and help others when I am able to but that has nothing to do with my view on this issue.
I said that I thought it would be a lot of fun to sponser a pro. I would have a lot of fun doing it. FROM MY PREVIOUS POST "But I would be more than happy to help someone if I thought they needed it and deserved it. From his responses on here, I don't think John qualifies for either of those reasons."
I did not like how John responded to Russ in the Low Payout thread. I thought it was very arrogant of him to say (with no reasoning) that obviously Russ was jealous of him, his ability and his lifestyle.
Russ' Points (I agree 100%)
1. Professional pool is hard to make a descent living ($$$)
2. Every Pro knew that before becoming a pro
3. No one tricked them into going pro
4. If you knew what you were getting into then you have no right to bit*h afterward (I do hope they figure out a way to make more)
I do not know John. I have never met him. I am not jealous of John. I do respect his pool playing skills but from what I have seen on here from him, I have no reason to respect him as a person. I have heard that he is a great guy in person and I would not begin to argue to the contrary because I have no way of knowing.
My only point was that if I am going to back someone it will be because they need and deserve it or for my own personal reasons like the fun of it or the chance to win some money.
Need- doesn't qualify from what he said in the past
Deserve- From what I have seen of his thoughts, he doesn't qualify in my opinion
Gamble/return on money- bad odds vs possible payoff
Fun- sure, I think it would be fun
Purdman, just because I say "Hell No" means nothing in regards to my spirituality. I try to live by the golden rule. I believe I have always treated you with respect and you turn around and call me a LOSER. I disagreed with some of the people that were bashing the posters who questioned John's request. I only pointed out what John had said in an earlier post, stated my opinions on the issue and said why I felt that way.
If the members want to back pro players I am all for it. But I think we could find plenty of players that are more deserving and more in need than John Schmidt.
Just my 2 cents.
Nathan
