Who's got it?

Maybe it will shed some light on just how much more difficult it is vs 9 ball.

Feel free to knock your own action and tell us your highs on 10B vs 9B!

I think there were some 4's on the SVB DVD's. But that was like a 4" Diamon 9'.

There's just so much trouble waiting out there in clusters and blocked lanes, not to mention just making a freakin' ball. I've never heard anyone claim even a "5" yet, but I'm sure someone has done that and higher on a bar box.

I hear all these crazy numbers for 9-ball, I think most are either exaggerated, happened on a bar bucket, included the first out off an opponent's miss, and may include safeties, where they are telling us a package of games won in a row, instead of true break and runs.

Biggest number I ever heard about for 9-ball on a tough table would be Archer running that 14 on Busty with a room full of witnesses.

I think the age of really high end 10-ball is just beginning, and guys with a monster 10-ball break (obviously like SVB) would be the ones to keep an eye on.

For 10 - ball: The highest I have witnessed is a 6 pack on a very tight gold crown.

Longest KNOWN 10-ball run is 9 racks, by the disgusting genetic missing-link who called himself "Detroit Whitey" (real name Ed Beauchene). This was in a multi-handed ring game at the legendary Johnston City venue, $50 a man, witnessed by many. The Male Thing then miscued while breaking rack 10 and quit immediately. He was one plump example of just about everything that's wrong with pool. GF

Is he the one you alluded to before who literally "lived in a van down by the river"? I think you mentioned he lived with his dogs in the van. Please tell us the rest of that story!

I watched Buddy Hall put up a 7 on the bar table during the 10 ball ring game in Olathe. Obviously this is much easier on a bar table but there were two 5 packs a 6 pack and a 7 pack.

I am fairly certain Stevie had a 5 pack while playing Bartrum on the 9' Diamond.

Scott Frost played the ghost on a bar table in a race to 21 (I think) You can see it @ OTR I wont spoil the ending but it is a good video to check out.

ive snapped off 5's 6's and 7's in 9ball many times but dont recall a 3 pack in 10 ball ever

dont play mcuh 10 ball either so...

I was going halves with a freind in a 10 ball ring game on a tight diamond. The first rack he got to shoot at the 4 ball.He made it and ran out the rest of the rack then broke and ran 6.Everyone quit after he made the 10 ball in the 6th rack.It was a 6 handed game at $50 a moneyball and there were three money balls per game.

9 pack in 10B is the record then?

The man runs a 6 pack, cleaning out pockets for $1750 (by my head math anyway) and apparently doesn't continue his package. I guess I wouldn't want to pay him $150/game to watch it either. Impressive!

So Detroit Whitey is the 10 ball man with a 9 pack? What's 9 ball? I heard someone say there was a # higher than Archer's 14, but I'm not ready to start engraving.

9 in 10 ball
14 in 9 ball

Can anyone up the ante?

I watched Francisco Bustamante put a 7-pack on Efren Reyes in an 8-man Invitational tournament at a poolhall called "Efren's Magic" in Manila, in Feb 2007.

Lee Van Corteza won the tournament over Francisco in the final.

Wow, those are huge numbers....9 racks in 10 and 20+ racks in 9!!!!!!

I have a 4-pack in 9 and only a 1-pack (is that a pack :D ) in 10.....I have much to learn....must spend more time on AZ :D

No clue about ten ball

No clue about ten ball but I have to confirm Neil's numbers on nine ball. I have heard of a handful of people running 23 racks or more. Dave Matlock is one of the people credited with a monster number on a bar table. Not easy with all of that traffic.
