Hohmann loses to Ko because of the Cyclop balls

hate to disagree with anybody, but the Cyclops cue ball has a problem. Its so common that a great number of people have noticed it. Maybe the problem has or is being addressed by the people who make them, but so far, it isn't fixed. If someone received a set that has no problem; you're the exception, not the rule.
FWIW, not trying to trash Cyclops, just want them to fix the problem. If nobody speaks up, we can't expect it to be addressed.

You do realize this cue ball issue rolling off took place 3 years ago, right?

How does the table recognise the cue ball for ball return? Where is that in relations to the table? If a magnetbis used. Is there any possible way that a magnet could be strong enough to affect the cue ball on the table.

This is not a Valley pool table, Diamonds have never used magnets to separate the cue ball...LOL

The original Cyclop cue ball had problems, as shown here. It was replaced about a year or so later and the new one plays okay.

That's right and you can hear him rightfully complain about it after his combo on the 10.

Absolutely terrible to subject professionals to something like this.

This is clearly the ball, not the table. It's going both directions.

They should rename the balls to Sandy Koufax balls.

okay so maybe there were some bad cueballs in the past and maybe some chalk moved the line of the ball, or maybe it was the cloth or the table had a rollout.

but bottom line is thats over and done and the cyclops balls do not have current problems.

and people always need something to blame for their misfortune or mistakes.

Whatever problems people had with the Cyclop CB were fixed over two years ago when Cyclop came out with the zit CB.

IOW, it's been fixed... doesn't seem to stop people from kvetching though.

Diamonds use an optical reader to separate the CB on their coin-ops. No magnet.

Did Cyclops announce a recall on their defective balls?

Did Cyclops put out an announcement stating that balls made from this date to that date can be returned and Cyclops will replace them free of charge with the new balls, so they could destroy the defective balls?

How do you know when presented with Cyclop's balls when they were made?

I suppose it is a certainty that defective balls are still being played - and will continue to cast doubt in the minds of players every time they look at a table with a rack of Cyclops balls.

If Cyclops would do the right thing it would be in their best interest, as well as the players and consumers of their product.

Nothing wrong with the cyclops balls, the issues were ironed out a while ago.

I always figure the table rolled off when that happens. I've never had a ball do that on a level table.

I never had "strange" rolls before I played Cyclops balls. That tells me something that no other person can change. No matter how clean or good are balls they play. I saw so many funny cueball behavior when I was at Derby.
I was so pleased to play 14.1 challenge. They had Aramith sets. :)....

It was only the cue ball they were having problems with. Something to do with how the red circle was embedded in the ball. I do agree that they should have made a recall. Seems like they wanted to keep it as quiet as possible.

Who said there were defective balls? You, lol?

Perhaps, if a consumer is unhappy with a product, and they have just cause, they could contact the manufacturer and address their concerns. But there is *no* evidence -- despite you saying otherwise -- that there were wide spread issues. If you have evidence, present it and not just broad brush heresay. (You can get sued for that :-)

Some folks didn't like the clear coating. Is that just cause for a recall? A few had issues with the logo -- those folks should make a claim. But my Cyclop logo CB plays fine, so there is certainly no evidence that a mass recall is in order.

Really?

Do you have a shred of evidence to support that? How would you like it if someone said, "Seems like Jay wanted to skim the entry fees off the top his tournament."

Watch the video again Lou. There were many instances of the original Cyclop cue ball rolling off. The players all spotted it right away. In fact we tested it after a match and it was pretty obvious. There is a good reason why they changed cue balls. You're just out of the loop Lou. Do you mind if I call you Loopy Lou? Hey, you finally got a pool nickname!
