How long have you been playing with your cue?

Just about 30 years with the Schuler in the avatar, though there were many years during that period when I wasn't playing at all. I love that cue. Please nobody kidnap it and hold it for ransom.

This is interesting questions...I wonder with all the cues that available in the market now...how often are playing changing cues if at all? Are you still finding your holy grail of cue?

I have been playing with my Joel Weinstock for well over 5 years now and it's one the best playing cue that I have had and will probably ever find. There are other cues that I would said hit as good but I would have to play with in for another 5 years plus to compare. I also have sentimental values with the cues as it has taken down some monster players in tournaments. That longest that I heard and know of to date is Gerry Watson who been playing with his Meucci cue faithly now for well over 30 years.

the 1st cue i ever bought was a meucci e2 back in the late 80's. i played off and on from then and that was pretty much the only cue i used. then i started playing seriously in 07 and got my dick neighbors in 08 and now that's all i play with. i've owned other cues but i never really used them.

35 Years. Been playing with my Burton Spain since 1977. Had it refinished 2 years ago by Hercek. I use my Carmeli on 9ft tables, and the Spain for barbox play. The Spain is a shorter cue, 57" and very stiff hit. Not sure why I play with the cues on those tables, it just seems to work out best that way for me....

Freddy "the Beard" traded me the almost new Spain for the cue I was shooting with when I was just a lad of 15 years old. Probably the only time in my life I will ever get to say "I robbed him blind".. :) But I"m sure he was just being nice to one of his good buddy's kid, but I'd like to believe I was a tough negotiator and out hustled the hustler :) At least that will be my story going forward !!!!

over 10 years on my joss, still hits like god... but i have my first custom, a pfd on order, so that will soon change.

Aloha,

Great topic! Harry Richards made me a Plain Jane over 21 years ago that smashes balls (in a good way). I have owned only this since bought in 91'.

Anyone know how to get in touch with him? Needs some tlc.

Mahalo,
Carl

I've been playing with my TAD since 1993. So that makes it about 19 years; and I'm still lovin' it.

Hello Duc, I think when you find the right cue you never change it. I know many people who have sold a cue or had a cue damaged that they played with for years and have regretted that day for the rest of their lives.

I think is can change a person game at least from the mental aspect and even possibly from a physical aspect.

Got a Lucasi hybrid model LHF69 about 4 months ago and have pretty much made it my player, prefer the wrap-less over the other 3 Lucasi cues I have
although all play about the same.

My first decent cue, a shemelke - 2 years. My second cue, a Lucasi - 2 years. Jim Baxter made me a sneaky butt from one of his "barn finds" and mated it to my Lucasi Hybrid shaft. 6 months with the butt and 1 year with the shaft and I dont see myself getting rid of it anytime soon. I plan on buying more cues but i love the feel of this one. Its simple looking and it plays great. Thanks again Jim!

My current cue a Joss purchased from a AZ member just over 2 years. Before that i had a Fury for about a year, thought it was a little butt heavy for my liking. Even though at the time i had no idea what my liking was. I still probably dont know what my liking might be but the Joss feels good to me. Before that it was a Walmart Special for about a year that i broke over my knew during the World series.

Predator SE 3, 7-8 years. Just had the Uni-Loc Joint and Pin converted to a Radial Pin and Duralite White Joint. Cue weighs 17oz. Hit's and play's unbelieveably.

Black Cat

Been playing with my Josey for just shy of 2 years now...and I don't anticipate putting her down anytime soon!!!

5 years for me...Josey as well. Original maple shaft. I believe there is no gadget that helps as much as practice & playing time. Not that I'm ready to beat any of the pros..

I've been playing with my Gina for about 2 years now. My previous cue was also a Gina that I decided deserved retirement after being in my faithful service since about 1964. It still comes to the office with me once a month or so. :D

Just under a year with my Carolina Custom; won't be changing any time soon...prior to that, I put 15 years in on my Schon, prior to that 5 years on my GEM. Before that I was changing cues every year or so...

I have been playing with my Schon SP#15 cue since 1983. So that's 29 years. My Phillipi I have been playing with since 1997. My ivory jointed coker since 1998. And my Runde cue since 1999. None of them are for sale.
