i do this alot i throw 15 balls on the table i take BIH an try an run them out i run them out sometimes just curious how many others play this game an try an run out in order an does it

I try this exercise now and then on my 9ftr. I once read that Efren warms up before matches, so I figured if he could do it so can I. The only diff is he runs his and I .....well don't even come close ~ ever:o.

I too practice this occassionally just to change things up, because I really don't like doing drills at all. I have run them out, but I wouldn't say it's more times than I fail to do it.

Robley. I use to play and practice Fargo when playpool was still online. Since you play for score you don't always try to run all 15 in rotation. I had a few run-outs but since the object is total score there was a lot of 10 to thirteen ball runs. Either way takes great focus and can not help but better your game.

Years ago we use to play 61 which is a great game. Now however all anyone wants to play is 9 ball or maybe 10 ball. Another game we played is One Side. That is played by running them in rotation but you have one side of the table (three pockets) and your opponent the other. That brings banks and multiple rails into the game. That is played to 61 points as well.

nice i will have too play that some times i was watching Willie mosconie an Crane an they was playing 9ball an 1 of them had left side an other had right side an they had too mark there pocket for the 9ball b4 they broke looked fun

This is my most frequent kind of practice. I like it mostly because of the challenging position play during the first half of the rack and because I can do it without thinking much.

I run out sometimes, not regularly.

I live on Oahu and prefer full rack games. Unfortunately it is a 9 ball mentallity here, so for the past 5 yrs I have been practicing 15 ball. I rack them, brake and play what the table offers. I only take ball in hand if qb goes off the playing surface. Needless to say a lot of kicking from time to time. I love it. unfortunatly I can't get many games here so when ever I shoot this is primarily what I practice. I am considering getting another set of super pro's to much what I have so I can practice 30 ball rotation. Great topic and good shooting. Carl

i do this as warm up before action everytime I play. I'm not really looking at patterns before action, just 3 or 4 balls ahead and not awalys taking the easy one, losing up and getting my head into it is my main objective. I'm not looking to run 15, I'm looking to make every shot I choose no matter how hard or easy.

Come to think of it I awalys warm up like this before any drills, just to losen up. I do my best to run all 15, I look to fins the best pattern and try to stick with it, when I'm not warming up to gamble, so I keep my rock on a shorter leash and try and run all 15, which isnt to hard(if I set them all up open) unless I leave a cluster on a rail on purpose or set the 15 balls out with 2-4 clusters in the middle of the table on purpose then it can get tricky.

But this is the first thing I do after I put my cue together, its certainly not enough to practice to really build up a solid game IMO, but it is the best way to get started for the day.

I do this a few times a week, and I can run 15 balls but not rack after rack :)

I practice this way a LOT. The only two differences is that I don't take BIH but instead just try to toss the cue ball in the center of the table somewhere. The other difference is that I pick either stripes or solids and try to run out through the eight ball, then proceed to shoot the remaining group of balls.

FWIW, I believe that 15-ball rotation is the game the pros should be playing. When you run out a rack of 15-balls in order, then you've accomplished something. Nine or ten balls in a row, PHOOEY!!!

Sometimes I do..
Not sure that it is better for your rotation games than playing 6ball though.

BB,
I'm going to have to respectfully disagree.

I just spent a week playing "21 ball rotation" on a 10 footer (rack 21 balls, scoring only 1 point per ball, but they must go in rotation).

Early in the game, the traffic is incredible, and you get SIGNIFICANT practice on unusual kicks, banks, caroms, kisses, and combo's. You would play 9-ball for a year with less opportunities for these shots ( and even the usual 15 ball rotation does not provide nearly as much opportunity for learning).

It's a great game on a 9 or 10 footer, give it a try.

I do this almost everyday but here is what I think works even better for anyone that plays less than world class.Throw 3 balls on the table, take bih and get out,Get out 5 times in a row then add another ball and repeat add 5th and repeat if you dont get out go back to 4 do this until u get to 9 balls. When in a match and 4 or 5 balls on table with bih your confidence is much better.Bucky Bell told me to do this when I was about 15 and ive always used it.

To give you an idea of how difficult it is to run 15 balls in rotation, I have seen numerous players put of videos of break and runs in 9 and 10 ball, even runnng 15 balls in one pocket, but I have not seen any player put one up of a break and run in 15 ball (except one) and that was on a table with 4" corners.

He was some player! Oh yeah, here's that turkey (turn up the sound):

I've done both of these off and on over the years. Robley, did you hear from Jean yet?

We played last night for about three hours. Score one point for each ball made with texas express type rules. First one to 25 wins.

Great game, lots of fun and many unusual shots to learn.

I have also been playing bank pool with another buddy. Make one, bank one, all call shot. First one to eight points wins. My buddy beats me 8-0 often in one inning. Sure makes me feel like I have a lot to learn as I have only won twice in about 25 games.
