Ending this Sunday evening 11/28, I'm auctioning off an original unrefinished 1960s George Balabushka Pool Cue with LOA from Pete Tascarella. This cue was made from a Burton Spain Full Splice bland and comes with 2 Original George shafts.

My guarantee is simple, 100% satisfaction or return for complete refund. If the buyer feels that their dissatisfaction is due to a misdescribed auction, I refund all the postage as well.

This cue is being auctioned with no reserve price. The high bidder will win the cue. This auction won't disappear suddenly. I don't end auctions early. I don't have items for sale locally. This auction will run to the end. Interested buyers will all have an equal chance to bid and win the auction.

60s baby, its the shizzle. Look at those pre pre pre CNC inlays! What a great piece of history this cue is, you can see it and hold it in your hands.

Drag that table, a fender strat and some cash and come on over and lets figure it out.

From what I understand, those square notched diamonds are rare for George, and look at the way he made holes to put them in, perfectly of course.

Burton Spain full splice blank!

Look at the patina!

Somebody will own this cue come Sunday night.

OK. I'm done raving (for now).

Good luck to all.

Thanks for looking and thanks for the bump

Ah, geez Kevin.... where to find the money...... man would I love to own that one....... I'm green with desire...................

I can't remember a cue that Kevin posted that I didn't want to buy! It's uncanny the caliber of cues he puts up for sale. This one is at the top of the food chain! I'm totally a sucker for the old wood shafts and heavy back end. I'm sure this cue feels likes it's part of your arm when you hold it. I hope that whoever buys this cue gets it refinished and actually uses it. This cue is meant for action.
Gem!

Almost forgot to talk about Kevin's Heuvos. LOL.
SATISFACTION GUARANTEED $9.99 NO RESERVE Auction, on a 60's Balabuska with a Spain Blank!!! Strong Seller!

I could almost feel the collectors' shudder when you said refinish this baby. This cue has never been refinished since George did it when brand new. That patina this cue has can only be achieved by some 45+ years of loving use and I'm willing to bet that this beauty will stay like it is until the end of time. A cue can only be original once, and finding one this old, this nice and this original is quite rare.

Thanks

Kevin

My bad, I thought there was no finish on it at all. Yeah, Kevin put a sport wrap on it too please and I'll think about it. LOL

Kevin I wish you the best concerning your sale, I really did not believe how low the other cue sold.

I sincerely hope this cue brings out the big money, it is one of those dream Balabushka cues that any collector would love to own.

Again good luck with your sale.

Kevin attracts rare, classic stuff because he specializes in selling rare, classic stuff!

I've seen this cue in person and it's originality is fantastic. Except for the replacement rubber, it's all there just as George made it. I might try to steal it - winding up my Bidnapper twin-turbo software as we speak.

It was a pleasure to see these square diamond inlays, original wrap, and Spain forearm in person. I've seen the square diamonds in a few other Bushka's but not many. Amazing how straight the cue is after all these years and it's solid. It actually would be a very nice player.

VERY NICE CLASSIC!!! Kev, I hope this cue has some crazy arse story behind it with you playing the role of Indiana Jones trying to rescue this cue from doom, lol!!!!

Concerning those notched diamonds:
I'm guessing that they are not directly inlaid into the sleeve because George hadn't yet perfected notched inlaying yet...? It would almost seem as if ole George had the diamonds laying around from his accordion making days and decided to try them in his new-found hobby, as this is no doubt one his earlier and fancier cues.

Also, what is the material they are set in? Looks like JB weld or something.

And, are you guys saying the overall square shape of the diamond itself is the rarity (as opposed to enlongated), or that it's inlaid into the circle inlay?

Lastly, Pete's LOA makes no mention of the 'inlays within inlays', nor does his illustration, for whatever that's worth.

Best of luck with the sale, and man there's gonna be a happy collector on Sunday!!!

For those who want to see pictures of Georges cues in Action. Go to the billiards Encyclopedia page 327 . And see two of the all time greats in Fierce competition with Cues George made for both of them. Then read the whole story about how George B. attended the NY tournaments, matches just because of the rivalry of these two great players. This cue is there in plain sight. mark

I've seen other Buska's with the square inlay, but most of his used the traditional diamond inlay.

That's the way he did that style of inlay. The photo's show the round hole but in person, it does not show up like that.

It may seem like an odd question but I'm curious what the balance point is.
