I am starting to take orders for building a cue....

76 posts in a row..

Yo Dom, Everything ok with you? You've made about 76 posts in less than in 24 hours of awake time. Looks like you went to bed at 4AM and got started back up at 1PM and didn't miss a beat. Most of your posts are meaningless garble. Chilax, or people are going to start to thinking weird things about you son.

this thread belongs in the wanted for sale section

If you are selling cues this thread belongs in the wanted for sale section.

nice edit:thumbup::thumbup:

that was a reply to my post:rolleyes:

but you knew that

Yep. Just wanted to reinforce what you were alluding to about his character. You covered the whole sharking thing, I wanted to point out some other things.

I don't know the guy at all. Just don't have a good feeling about some of the things he posts...especially this thread.

dom poppa,
If you are truly starting a cue making business, I really do wish you luck and success. Just remember that once you put something on the internet, it is there forever.

Ladies and Gentleman,

I have decided to start building cues and will be in the market to buy a lathe. I have always wanted to build my very own cue and also make a living doing this.

I have found some suppliers of ivory and some of the finest woods in this world.

My background:

-pool player for 16 years with extensive knowledge of materials
-played with various cues

That's about it.

I will need a 25% deposit and the wait time will be 11 months. During those 11 months I will be practicing. Just be patient you will get your cue.

Only taking orders for 20 cues...and next year only 15....so give me your money and by the time I get efficient enough everyone's cues will be done.

Send me your designs.

P.S. I am dead serious. I will be very good between now and the end of the 11 months. The deposits would be a good way to build capital till I get all the equipment then I can meet the orders. I will have plenty of time to practice my skills.

Did anyone has sent you deposit yet?i will be very surprise if someone did.why would i ask someone to give me a ride who doesn't even have a car? There's a lot of cue makers out there who have years of experience and invested on equipments.Yet,some are not successful. There's a guy i know who builds his own cue .I tried it and i like it a lot.i offered him to build me a cue but he refused to because he knew there's a lot more tiny things he has learn to become successful. He is more about the quality and would like to bring it up to a perfection..now,give us a good reason why should we order cue from you..you don't have experience nor equipment..it is hard to judge you since not a lot of us knows you but i guess the way you are doing business here is just way wrong..

Amazing

WOW. I am in absolute disbelief right now.:shocked:

If you don't know how to properly clean a cue what makes you think you can properly build one?

If you are in the financial business then I would hope you know how a loan works. Get one, buy a lathe, make some cues, and at this point TRY to sell them. Maybe then after 2365 positive sales you could ask for a deposit. Anything short of that and good luck getting a nickel from anyone around here.

After reading your post in the above link it seems like you integrity is pretty much shot and you have the nerve to talk about how other actual cuemakers do business. WOW:speechless:

All of this is of course only my opinion.

Junior

exactly

Based on your comments on the other thread about "the old guy" and "the fat guy", I wouldn't send you a quarter.

Additionally, who takes deposits for something they aren't even sure they can do? Anyone who sends you money is an idiot. You want people to fund you to learn how to build cues. And based on your attitude, I'm sure your customer service will be excellent.

I will pass and not be disappointed I missed out when you're famous in the cue world. Thanks.

Are you kidding me. How do you ask for a deposit when you have never built a cue. Build cues first, then sell them, get your name out there. And I total agree with the quoted post.

I want to be a rock star!

been listening to and loving rock and roll nearly my whole life.

now that I'm in my mid-fifties, I'm thinking it's time to stop daydreaming about it and make it happen.

my becoming a rock star will benefit all of my az friends, too. here's how:

i've had my eye on a paul reed smith guitar just like the one Carlos Santana plays and I know with that axe and some music lessons, there will be no stopping me from realizing my dream.

in order to set this dream into motion, I am going to allow my az friends to pre order my inevitable first cd. and to be honest, I'm so sure about this and so excited, I've already bought a pair of black spandex pants with the day-glo green lightning bolts going down each leg.

I haven't chosen which music teacher I will study with but I looked in the yellow pages and it appears there are four who teach guitar right here in my town, alone.

Please send $14.99 to my paypal and that will include shipping to CONUS. Add $2 for other parts of the world with the following two exceptions. Unfortunately, I will not ship to either Somalia or Nigeria, however, this may change by the time the cd is ready to ship as it will undoubtedly be a changed world by then.

I want to thank you all well in advance for your support in helping to make my dream of becoming a rock star a reality.

does anyone know which picks are considered to be the absolute best?

I don't want anything to go wrong.

best,
brian kc

Sure but did you think about what their first cues looked like?

They may have been cut up with a band saw for all we know.

Actually, some of the greats just bought a lathe and started making great cues pretty much right off the bat.

The names Janes and Stroud come to mind.

In fact I would say most probably start out that way. There have been and are a lot of cue makers. I would say most of them probably started out "on their own".

Indeed some have apprenticed...but many did not. But numerous well know makers do have ties in some way, whether apprenticeship or otherwise, to some mentor though.

.

Custom made cocobolo with a notched diamond inlay.

I got some of those and skipped the music lessons.

True story, yes.

You had me at Black Spandex Pants. Paypal coming your way.

I know how to build cues and can buy my own lathe.

I only need 10 people to PayPal me 50K a piece to buy a house with a garage. Your wait will be 2 years as I will need a year to have the house built.

I can however promise without question the first 10 will have gotten the only cues I ever built for a measly 50K per cue.

Don't delay, Paypal today.
