Ernie. He has spanned old school and new school, accepted today's modern methods while understanding as well as anyone the older methods. And, since he's more machine/automation oriented and I'm an automation/robotics assembly engineer, it seems to be the right match.

In no particular order...

I would like to learn more than I already have from, Tim Scruggs, Bob Runde or Paul Fanelli. Any of these guys build world class cues and could give me a greater chance to be able to achieve their level of expertise.
 
If they are built by the same machine in every little guys shop. Then who is the best cuebuilder to study from? I think it's CNC. lol

That is my pick. I would like to study under CNC. For now, until I know more about it.

Tim Scruggs, or Andy Gilbert. To me, they make great looking cues, but more importantly, they hit GREAT(imo). I have personally not found too many others that ALWAYS seem to combine the two.
 
If I could choose only one man of them all, it would have to be Joel Hercek for all the knowledge he gained by himself and from Burton Spain. Getting to know what these two men know about pool cues could make me the happiest man ever walked this planet.

How about Bob Meucci. He's made more $$$ making cues than most cue makers, right?:grin-square::grin-square::grin-square:
 
depends....any good cuemakers live in the San Diego area? I mean, if I'm going to be an apprentice, I want to do it in a nice location - just north od SD would be fine - LaJolla, Torrey Pines, whatever... :p

I think my being sick of the Midwest winters is showing thru. You can keep the Northeast ones too!!

My choices as well. :thumbup: I could only imagine the kind of artful and awesome hitting cues George would have been building today. Definitely made some beautiful work and awesome designs with the materials of the time.

Just one thing, I would make it a trio and add in Gus. Between what you would learn from those 3 you could leave all others gasping :-)...
