On July 4, 2009 I was badly injured in an auto accident. I was a straddle the trailer tongue, between my SUV & my trailer, when a drunk veered off the highway & struck my trailer, my right leg & the left side of my SUV. He tried to run away, but other drivers on the highway contained his escape, until the OK Highway Patrol could rein the SOB in. There were some real heroes present that afternoon.

My right calf & foot have been crushed & it will be several months before my therapy is complete. I can't bear weight for about 2 more months, then my real come back will begin.

I lost about 30 pounds, but I have plenty left to lose. I can't exercise in a wheelchair or hospital bed. I have that in front of me.

Thanks to all of you, who called & emailed about my condition. I'm really Looking forward to playing Pool again... I'm practicing in my mind & am enjoying reading my Pool Library. I'm sure that my therapy will include walking around a Pool Table....

Thanks to my customers, in this downtime, your patience is really appreciated.

You'se guys at Magoo's will see me shortly, even though I am in a wheelchair.

AZB is a great family...

Charley,

I wish you a very fast recovery! I have enjoyed our conversations on the phone, thank you, and I am enjoying my new Breakrak!

Owwwww!

Sorry to hear about your accident. Glad they caught the SOB that hit you.

Pool is probably the fast track therapy that they will put you on once you can stand. :D Good luck with your recovery.

I`m very sorry to hear about this. I wish you a speedy recovery. And I`m glad to see the SOB caught for doing this to. Wish you the best.

Wow - scary story, but glad you are back online with us. Hope the recovery goes well - I know it can be tough.

Take care.

Glad your back on and alive! I am sure you will be up and running and running racks soon.

Glad you are still here. Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but good luck on the road back.

Glad to know you are doing good, you will be in my prayers. I'm glad the SOB was caught, thank goodness someone was watching over you.

Good to hear you are on the road to recovery. I busted my achilles tendon last year and it took me 6 months to be back to almost normal. Because of the muscle loss I still find myself a bit off balance when playing Pool. It was my left foot and being right handed every so often I lean my weight into it and almost fall over. Who knew Pool required so much muscle?

OMG! Glad to hear you're on the road to recovery. My prayers are winging their way to you right now. Try to get some kind of enjoyment out of your enforced vacation. You deserve to take it easy!

So sorry this happened to you but glad they caught the guy. Drunk drivers should get the full penalty of the law.

Glad to hear you are gonna be OK. That sounds like a pretty rough deal, GL with the recovery.

Man, I am sorry to here about your accident. I am glad that you are doing better. Looking forward to seeing you get back in action. God speed to your recovery.

Glad you made it through, but now you HAVE to make that drunk idiot go bankrupt! Take the idiot for all he is worth, make him pay for the rest of his life. If you dont need the cash, donate it to MADD or some other charity.

Wow Charley, we're lucky to have you at all - that was a really close call.

Sounds like you're in good hands and will come back a stronger, healthier, and skinnier guy than ever! Good luck with the recovery and keep us up to date.
