IPT Match - Manalo vs. Morris

Cool iba. I can sweat it now.

You know I just want to say I really like guys like iba, Beetle, Dead Poked, Nostroke and a few others who you can make a bet with and not go thru all the hemming and hawing. All that woofing wears me out.

The way I look at it is you either like a bet or you don't. If I do, I will and if I don't I won't. Not too complicated but some people make it seem like it's the hardest decision of their life. We aren't getting married here folks. We're just sweating a pool game. :D

damn, you not gonna lump me in there? I'm probably the biggest internet sweat bet loser on here. I've lost to almost every poster! You still owe me a dinner when we meet too, lol.

Oh, and Corvette Tommy, the biggest sucker on here. Man I wish I lived closer to you. I'd just follow you around all day long and make sweat bets with you. :)

You just keep booking losers with me and we'll be just great. J/K corvette. Do you like Morris or Manalo here?

Damn, I was late on that one Jay... :(

Anyone else wanting Morris side? There are 3 more guys wanting Manalo: Tanner, Corvette and myself.

I'm on Manalo's side, I'll bet $100. Any takers?

who won this match?

Manalo won. Tony missed a very makable ball to get him on the hill and then proceded to lose to a very strong Manalo. That year Manalo won the Reno Open & the Hard Times Jamboree 9-ball event the next weekend. He had a very good 2 weeks.

Dave

This match isn't until March 5th. Hope Tar har something I can sweat before them.:D Johnnyt

I also like Manalo in this game. I already got a little down on this with poster who is good action, but I certainly would take more.

Isn't that cutting off your nose to spite your face? By all accounts, KT has LOST money with his IPT venture.

-djb <-- thinks you're missing a chance to watch a good match

No one really knows how much he lost. I'm more than willing to miss a great match if it means sticking to my morals and beliefs. The more people that watch, the better chance it gives KT to make money off of it. And with his record and reputation, how long do you think it will be til he does something else scandalous? Everything he touches turns bad and I will not be a part of it. If the IPT blows up and gets pool going in the right direction and benefits the players and fans, i'll be as thrilled as anyone for the sport. But I will do nothing that helps KT.

I like Rodney Morris in this match... But my heart says to never bet against a Filipino, so I will atleast wait one more month before I choose my horse :)

The stats:
Rodney Morris has won 30 matches in the IPT, and 56% of his games. He has 127 B&R, and 1 time 8 on the break.

Marlon Manalo has won 28 matches in the IPT, and 59% of his games. He has 76 B&R, and 4 times 8 on the break.

The facts:
The pricemoney of 5000 $ is between 1 - 1,5 monthly average salary in the States (I guess), and it is between 15 and 20 monthly average salaries in the Philippines.

I happen to like Rodney in this particular match.
Be careful Jay. You know players of this caliber are pretty much equal in their skills but the difference is that Manalo is probably the best eight ball player out there on the big table. Of all the IPT players his eight ball game impressed me the most. Barring none. IMO

I got you covered FISH! :D

$100 is cool. I've got the weak guy, Morris.

Thanks Frank. I agree with you, but there is more to handicapping this match then meets the eye. Nuff said!

Once again we are thinking alike Jay. I did put a very small sweat bet on Manalo, but it would certainly benefit the IPT to have Morris win this match since the Phillipino won the last one over a US player. It would even out the East vs West matches and create more attention in US players competing in these challenge matches as they move toward the PPV stages that will surely come. Hmmmmm........Conspiracy theorists, discuss.

That isn't what I'm talking about at all. Rodney will have to win this match, but I think he can and will.

lol, I was just throwing that out there so if Rodney won then I could look like a genius and have a reason to ***** about losing again.
