Is Oliver Ortmann a HOFer?

I was watching a few matches of Oliver. I can't think of anyone else that has a nickname that suits their bstyle of play like "The Machine." I went to his wikipedia page and saw an impressive resume. He is a World Champion in 9ball and 14.1 and he also has numerous other titles. I think he has enough titles titles to earn his entry into the BCA HOF. What do you guys think?

I gave him the title The Machine (but it was originally The Munich Machine). This was the name of a European 80s pop band, the creation of Giorgio Moroeder.

Oliver lived in Munich when he first started playing in Matchroom events and I first used the nickname in the Billiard News Magazine preview for the Mosconi Cup.

Giorgio's handiwork can best be heard in the underlying synthesiser sound on Donna Summer's fantastic full volume track I Feel Love

oliver gives mataya the 7 . Jimmy is cool, and should be in the hall, byt oliver is a no brainer.

There are a lot for very good players now and over past years. I think the HOF has to be something more special then having won some tournaments. This is not meant to degenerate his skills but the list of players who are not in the HOF and maybe should be would be very long before Ortmann's name would appear in my opinion.
HOF can't be thrown around so freely, it is something very special.

I use to love to watch Ortmann play back in the early 90's. His fundamentals were great and a super smooth stroke!

Yes, Ortmann belongs. In my opinion, the next five pool players, in no particular order, that should be inducted are:

Karen Corr
Jeanette Lee
Rodney Morris
Oliver Ortmann
Jose Parica

I also feel that John Brumback, the greatest bank pool player of this generation, is worthy of consideration.

I aslo feel that John Brumback, the greatest bank pool player of this generation, is worthy of consideration.

John won master of table at DCC and was runner up the next year....

Parica isn't in HOF??? That's unreal.... You guys remember the 900+ man tourney he snapped off in japan in late 80's??? Paid like 5 milliion yen... Beat efren in finals.... Imagine the venue, how did they run that thing???

Yes on Ortmann btw....

Jeanette Lee??
Rodney Morris?

WOW....

I don't have Jeanette even on the page to be considered for the consideration page.

As much as I hate to add it, I think that off field actions have to affect HOF. Not talking about gambling either.

Oliver has credentials t be in hof. Any time you beat miz in finals 14.1, that is a awesome defeat!!!

Does the European governmental body of professional pool, the EPBF (European Pocket Billiard Federation), have a Hall of Fame? If so, are there any American legendary players inducted in the EPBF Hall of Fame? Just curious!

Have you got more infos about this tournament?

Since the BCA is so generous to our European bretheren of players, admitting them into the BCA Hall of Fame, giving European players a green light to shoot pool in China on a BCA ticket, I am curious what the EPBF has done for American players. It would be interesting to learn. :)

I don't have Jeanette even on the page to be considered for the consideration page.

Jeanette has won close to 20 WPBA titles and she spent about ten consecutive years ranked in the top 5 of the WPBA at one point. Also, she has won multiple Amway Cups, was the gold medalist at the World Games, and has won several Challenge of Champion events. She is (along with Jean Balukas, Ruth McGuiness, Dorothy Wise, and Jasmin Ouschan) one of the five best female straight pool players of all time.

..... but to you, she's not even worthy of consideration. Go figure.

Yeah, What about the American pool players? Why are they left out of the loop?
