Josh Roberts also chimed and said it was the worst tournament he's ever been to.
Also Mike Davis, who confirmed everything the players were saying, stated that they're being treated rudely. He also said SVB was trying to get the players together and walk out based on the added money not being what was advertised.
Two top players forfeited.
I'll have the details of everything as soon as I get it all put together.
I noticed there were hardly any spectators in the stands.
I for one would like to know what is going on, so please provide links.
You start a thread tarnishing Vivian's reputation with no specific facts or situations. Just a lot of "Blah Blah Woof Woof" to act like you know something.
If you have specific information post it. If not why did you even start this thread.

Nothing less should of been expected when someone wants to promote the event, run the event, play in the event, that is a recipe for disaster. It's called GREED.
But with that said, on the website it did say "x" amount added with "x" amount of entrants in each event, it was plain as day when you were paying your entry. Now on the other hand on the fliers which most see, it did not have that information. Of course most top pros would never see this as they don't pay their entries. So it was messed up and kind of misleading in one spot and not the other from the outset. It's called inexperience, and she is that at running events
$100,000 Added?
Word is closer to $70,000 across all of the events combined. Quick someone break out a calculator and see if it is $30,000 SHORT?![]()
Well, first off, there are quite a few threads in this forum about tournament advertisement wording or terminology. I do not have time look them up this morning, but there is a difference between money "guaranteed" (key word) or "money added" (based on X number of players).
For those interested, here's what Tony Chohan said on Facebook (edited with punctuation for clarity):
"I just got done speaking to Vivian, and whether it is a misprint or whatever, the tournament is based on 128 players. But an accident, there was somewhere else that says something different, so I'm going to not apologize. But I am going to say that she is trying to do her darndest to help with sport in the right direction. I will leave it at that. She's not a bad person; i's just mistakes happen. And it was the first go, and I hope that next year it will be even better."
Looks like a nice venue.

Vivian tries to give back to the game and put on a big event. Players sit back, nit pick and make her look like she's somehow corrupt. It's a thankless position for her.
I put on a no greens fee, no tournament director fee , 100% payout tournament with player auction. Half the players *****ed about the rules; rack your own, 9 ball spots, single elimination race to 9, the handicaps and on and on.
What happens when nobody is left to put on events? We all just play league and enrich the APA? Big table pool is almost dead and players actions only contribute to it's demise.
