JoeyA Goes to Valley Forge (to do commentary)

I had noticed that at least 2 different ones were supposed to do stuff at the Expo and I thought I saw that TAR was doing something, too. I just thought you guys all knew, or I'd have said something about what I was seeing a week or two ago, when I figured it out. I also knew we were working to get Lenny for the artistic pool Masters, upstairs. I had no idea you guys didn't know there was more than one of you scheduled. We started asking about Lenny a few months ago, but as I said, that was primarily for artistic pool. And, I wasn't able to follow up on it and dropped the ball, due to having some major anxiety attacks for a few weeks, which is no excuse, but I still feel really bad about it.

I'm glad you guys are okay with the multiple thing. I don't know how it happened and from the sound of it, I don't think I really want to know. But, once I started thinking about it, I realized how good that could actually work out for all of you, as well as for the event, too.

I'm looking forward to meeting you guys at the Expo. Oh, and... You might wanna aim your cameras a different direction, when I'm around. I might break 'em.

I dont think you get it either.

Believe me, 2 or 3 streamers sharing 500K of upload bandwidth is not going to work out as good for anyone. It is going to mean bad quality streams for all parties involved.

TAR has already said that they were planning on not streaming if there was only 500K upload available. I doubt we will see a similar offer from the late arriving member at this party.

For those who don't see what just happened, it goes something like this. AZBTV is supposed to cover the tourney & TAR would be doing action if it happened & maybe checking out some of the booths. Now inside pool has weaseled its way into the fold which shouldn't really be a shock I guess. I just hope they don't cause the better coverage imo from the other two to not stream at all. I would also guess one or both just found out from seeing this thread & less than a week from the start too. I'm sure they are just thrilled.

JoeyA, I will come by and say hi if I can catch you when you are not busy. I would like to meet you and hopefully many other AZERs.

Joey,
I am so happy for you and proud of you! That's just more validation of the quality of your work. Sincere congrats!

I won't be able to attend this years SBE so I'll miss seeing you there. And I don't know how much, if any, I'll be able to follow on the internet. But know that I and all your other buddies are real happy for you! Enjoy my friend!

Also, please put a bug in JR's ear and tell him to finish up with those DVD's from Shannon's tournament. Tell him "your people" want him to hurry it up!
:)

Mike,

It sounds like the promoters, Allen Hopkins & Company, don't understand the implications of multiple streams at a single event.

It sounds like it will bad for everyone. Hopefully they will figure out a fair solution.

Was it actually the promoters who did the scheduling, though? Or, was it someone involved with the separate events? That's where the deal I was working with got a little hung up, first. (Long story.)

I"m real sorry to hear you guys are having to deal with an issue like this. I hope it turns out much better than it sounds for everyone. There has to be a way to work this out where eveyrone is happy. Maybe you guys could work shifts???

You can't blame me for trying! I love watching the stuff and I really appreciate the free feeds you guys do for us homefolks.

I've been hired to do a four day gig at the Super Billiard Expo and will be working for Inside Pool Magazine. (thanks Jay). It will be for four days, March 19-22. Tune in to watch many of the top matches live with me as the anchor commentator.

The commentary that I will be doing is for the professional player's tournament and the Live Streaming broadcast will be LIVE & FREE!

If you get a chance to, please check in and say hello. The link for the free Live Streaming should be:

It would be great to hear from you guys and girls in the chat room.

Thanks,
JoeyA

Congrats Joey. You da' man! In case anyone didn't know, we brought Joey into the booth at Shannon's Player Championship and he took to the 'mike' like a duck to water. He knocked me out of the box right away. :)

Now I know Joey can do more than play high speed One Pocket. Now about that damn pool game. Did you say Banks and One Pocket? :p

oh boy, I am really hoping next weekend doesn't end up involving as much drama and it looks like it will...I had waaaay too much of that at our state tournament this weekend.

That's awesome Joey, I'll be sure to watch the live stream as for the first time in a long time I won't be going to the Expo this year.

No separate events on this one. We made the plans with Allen for the men's pro event and announced our streaming back in mid Feb. The "late" announcement for the exact same thing came just last week from the other party.

But again, this is no where near the first time it has happened.

Something I find interesting is that Justin has already commented that he would not stream if it affected the pro event stream. Spiderweb is talking about getting with the IT department to try to work something out. We are also trying to get the IT guy on the phone to sort things out. But not a word from the party's late arrival. Interesting. Not surprising, just interesting.

No Jay, You DA MAN! You taught me everything I know about commentary.
Seriously, thanks for your help and introduction to that part of the pool world. I hope to have a lot more fun and bring everything I have to the people viewing the matches on the Live Stream.

Just one pocket. Somebody clued me in on your bank game.

So if the announcement was just made last week but you had been planning on this event since February - would I be correct in assuming that you already made travel arrangements and incurred costs along with preparation time before you found out that you were snubbed or grouped together (however you want to view it) with another entity.

Nice for JCIN and it sounds like possibly AZBTV to once again think of the fans first and not want to attempt his stream and ruin it for the innocent bystanders (fans). I am from NY and don't think I could be that nice.

I'll give Allen Hopkins the benefit of the doubt in not knowing that there are limitations to the # of streamers the center could accomodate. The late arriving party, however, has streamed before and obviously would know of this limitation.
