Gary told jeremy john will play u on a new diamond race to 8 and i thought jeremy agreed. match was set for 6 pm wed on that diamond no other table.
when u guys show up jeremy wants to play on something different.
I never asked him to play he calls us. Gary says play even on diamond jeremy says ill c u wed then wont play when he gets there.
I cant help that.
Also yes i figure to get out banked and outmoved and he figured to get outshot. no harm no foul.
U and jeremy are good guys and hes a great player and u play pretty damn awesome yourself.

p.s. u played on diamond with nick 300 a game so table had to be one pocket worthy etc.
chris gentile like table when i played him he got right up on it.scott frost luvs diamonds just like that one.also i promise efren plays on one just like that one for big money all the time etc.
truly great one pocket players play on new diamonds all the time especially after making the game to play on it.i consider jj to be a truly great player so he would play fine on it. its not a 5 inch gc its a 4.5 inch pocket diamond with 14 month cloth. anyway i bring this all up because i felt bad for all the people who drove up to c match. Gary has many many texts from jj where match was set so frankly i was surprised jj changed his mind last second.

I play never anymore so jj not playing probably saved me a beating.

jeremy didnt want to play on the new blue label diamond, so we gave david action with nick, davids solid wins 1700 hundred, we had a full house anticipating johns match with jeremy, i didnt want to change tables because john hasnt played on our brunswicks since diamond brought in his table 8 months ago, the tables play completely different. johns lost 10,000 getting 9 to 8 from jeremy, we were showing some gamble taking the game even. our only hope was john could hang with jeremy on his diamond. pool is a very tough business right now, a lot of very good american players doing nothing. tough to find stakehorses and tough to match up. i took up poker 3 years ago because i love the a ction, pool was too tough. im playing poker tonight, no hageling. gary henry, owner of garys victor billiards

Jeremy backing out of the one pocket match wasn't the only thing that surprised me. Him asking you to play rotation and wanting weight was just plain weird. You offered to play 9 ball on the gold crown. I'm not sure what more you or Gary could have done to make a game with him. He is a great player and this match would have been awesome. I'm bummed it didn't go off...Good Luck at Derby!!!

All of Derby's one pocket matches are on Diamonds with 4.5" pockets with new cloth. It sounds like this table would play tougher than those. I have seen many great one pocket matches on Diamonds and it isn't just a shootout. The US Open one pocket is also played on Diamonds and isn't just a shootout.

When you seen one pocket played on a 4" or smaller pocket it ruins the game, if pro pool players can no longer shoot at their hole on tough shots the game gets boring.

If J.J. beat John with 9 to 8 and he is offering to play him even on the Diamond I think J.J. missed a big opportunity to make a score. I know I think J.J. would be a favorite against John on a 4.5" Diamond.

Good for you for trying to put this match together. Like you said earlier it can be difficult getting two players to agree on a game, a bet, a race, the table, the balls, the cue ball. etc. etc. The list goes on and on. I've promoted my share of matches and it's never easy to get one on, just ask the guys at TAR.

I'm kind of surprised that JJ would come all that way and not play on the Diamond. He did know that the match was supposed to be played on a Diamond table, right? IMO there is nothing wrong with a Diamond with 4.5" pockets and already broken in cloth. But hey it ain't my dough, so it's not for me to say.

I think if they had played the best player would have won, it's that simple. It ain't the table baby, it's the guy who can come with the shot with all the money on the line. They can play on the floor and the best player will find a way to win.
