John Schmidt/Shane Van Boening Vs. Quintan Hann????

lmfao,
you take a 3 month hiatus and then come on here and defend the biggest slapnut in pool. Did you even read the thread? Nobody targeted Quinten he came on here and challenged John and then started slinging names and saying he would fight and this and that. Also, I guess you are calling John a crackpot, naysayer, or troll because he voiced his opinion on Quentin All you need to to is google Quentins name and you can see for yourself all of his past descrepancies. Your post makes me sick at my stomach.

How about you google Quinten's name yourself.....then you might beat your 1 for 3 score.....you crackpot naysaying troll you:p :) :D

sorry Mikey, I got the first one right though, lol. I was just upset that she could defend someone just because they shoot pool good. Quinten may be a stand up guy, I don't know. I do know that he's been in trouble with the law....a lot, he's been banned from snooker for dumping, and he has a history of attacking opponents during a match with shark tactics and personal threats. John Schmidt on the other hand is one of the most well respected players in the US and has never exhibited any of those qualities. I've had my differences with John in the past but for anyone to side with Quinten on this especially after reading the ENTIRE thread is just comical.

It seems to me Quiten's put up a very fair bet by offering to play 8 Ball on american tables with speed cloth. He's almost zero experience of playing on that equipment. Sure, he's played IPT but only for a short while and very little practice and the cloth was more akin to a snooker or english pool table cloth so that tenious link with the game of american 8 ball, which is played on completely different equipment is the closest it gets for him.

On the other hand John's comments have been very unnecessary and in my opinion all he's been trying to do is cover up for the fact he's bottled it and knows he only stands a chance against Quinten if he plays games he's very familiar with and Quinten's never played before.

As has already been established i think the equipment makes bugger all difference in eight ball. it's just about picking the right pattern. and bar a couple of minor points the right pattern on an english pool table is the same on an american so he is a seasoned eight baller. this is proved by his good result in the IPT. he'd barely picked up an american cue before but he has good eight ball knowledge so he did really well. you don't need any big stroke shots in eight ball either like you do in nine or ten ball.

and i'm sorry, but some of you need to get a grip of reality. quentin is not some sort of cue god. Does anybody here really think playing Quentin Hann at eight ball is HARDER than an all around match with Danny Harriman?? It's not even close! Playing Harriman is MUCH tougher.

It's just the fact of the matter is why should John go out of his way to play someone who started insulting him and his ability and saying he is better than john at ALL games but then is only prepared to play him at one?? only one person backing down in this thread as far as i can see. play a few racks of nine ball for a few of weeks and play him if you are so much more talented than him! eight ball you've got more experience than John probably. why should he play you at the one pool game you have a chance at when you started it by insulting him!

oh and i agree with corvette - did you even read this thread JAM?

We're gonna keep banging heads on this equipment aspect worriedbeef:p :)

It makes a huge difference when comparing 8 ball on uk 8 ball tables/rules to the American rules/equipment. Hell it even makes some difference on different types of American equipment.....for example whatever the true odds against John beating Quinten at 8 ball on Simonis speed cloth might be, those odds are higher against John on IPT cloth.......and the tighter the cut of the pockets the higher those odds get. This is isn't bias cos I have none, nor rocket science.......just common sense;)

Maybe it was Mosconi who played Williams. So both he and Miz won challenge matches against Snooker players. And Jim Rempe won the English 8-Ball title several times. So Americans are not completely helpless at these games.

I never said that, but my point was they lost the snooker portions by large margins, as I recall, the Miz/Davis match was 2 parts pool/1 part snooker

the facts speak for themselves, outside the British Isles, only Canada has reached the pinnacles of international snooker, I can't think of an American that has ever even qualified for the tour, but I would like to see that very much

imo, all cuesports really need players outside their respective nations

Quentin Hann would be a most welcome addition to the pool scene imo, either in challenge matches or tournaments, we all make mistakes but it's how we progress from those mistakes that define us, he just needs to tone things down a bit though

It was Mosconi who played Rex Williams back in the 70's.

I have some brief footage of it.

Mosconi won the pool challenge and did manage to take one frame of snooker from Williams.

Trying to cause problems with me once more?

Why not concentrate on being a married man and let the whole forum know how much you want to hit it, hit it, hit it every time there is a photo of a young lady in a thread.

You're one of the "biggest slapnuts" in this forum, as far as I'm concerned.

BTW, I finally saw your picture. After seeing your mug, it looks like something "hit it" on you all right -- a big old ugly stick.

I will voice my opinion any damn time I feel like it, whether you like what I have to say or not. You make me sick to my stomach, and I hope I never have the bad fortune to be at an event at the same time you are. If I am, walk the other way, Pal.

Read the thread. I never said one cross word to him, but he quoted my post in this thread and wrote to me personally. So I responded in kind.

Two things...

1. Smorg was making fun of Derek and LWW, nothing to do with corvette.

2. His name is in blue as he is a paying member. There is a sticky about it.

Making comments about someone's looks is childish, in poor taste, and sometimes can be found ironic.

I'm not sure I understand the humor of Derek and LWW by Smorgie, number one.

Number two, thanks for the kind response. I will have to read what the blue means.

I remember I initiated a thread about some prizes and other cool items being provided to those who wanted to pay for an AzBilliards membership, and nobody liked the idea at that time.

My, how things have changed with time, much like the climate on this forum.

you are more than welcome to voice your opinions on here just like anyone. I respect your opinion but sometimes have differing ones. We can agree to disagree, but saying I'm not attractive is just plain silly. I am basically akin to a Greek God.

Actually, I kind of think I look great for 54 years of age. Actually, I was 51 in that picture, I think. :p

EDITED: What a waste of time this forum is for me.

You, Corvette, are a loser in the biggest sense of the word. You are insulting and a POS as far as I am concerned.
