Getting a bit senile these days but my memory banks seem to recall an arranged boxing match of sorts between Quinten Hann and our very own Darren Appleton some years ago......in a real boxing ring I think.

Can't remember the details but it was probably a bit of a gimmicky thing, maybe Quinten or Darren can remind us:)

i came here to organise a simple bet as everyone here talks about gambling but you turn it nasty and personal

you dont want a 70k bet to your 50k you play my game ill play yours snooker v pool, yet you say how many big breaks you make at snooker and how you could of made it as a snookerpro

why dont you both send me a deposit and we will have our selves a lil challenge match! on the pool table of course, i think i can control both parties involved! nobody has to worry about anything off the table just let your cues do the talking! im sure we can make a game! i mean you want jon on the table quinten and john i know you want him on the table so lets get the ball really rolling!pm me if your interested quinten!:D

im happy for you to be involved but i think i have spelled out everything pretty clearly after the insults from john. he can have me for 20k 8 ball?

you dont go insulting someone and expect no repercussions plus ill have steam coming out of my ears when i see him and the only way ill be able to concentrate is knowing ill get my hands on him after.

Quinten Needs To Get To America & Play

I saw Quinten Hann play pool in Vegas at the IPT North American. In fact, I sat down and watched three of his matches. I watched him against Appleton, some other guy, and Thorsten Holmann. When he was warming up in front of Thorsten, I watched Thorsten's body language and noticed he was squirming and uncomfortable. He was watching Quinten's eyes and how clean his stroke was, and looked almost shocked. During the match, the gallery got huge, and I noticed Quinten look over at his friend David Rel-something (some Australian pool pro) and smirk a few times. There was a confidence there I didn't see in Thorsten, and he ended up winning the match against Thorsten. Holmann ended up winning the IPT event, and the only time he looked beat was when he played Quinten. Quinten is a strong, world-class player with a pretty awesome but simple open bridge. His pattern play is pretty incredible and he can make any shot John can make, no doubt. I think if anyone can play 8-ball like that after a month, with a fresh cue, then you have to take them seriously. Quinten can flat out play. I think part of the reason other males dislike him is because he's tall, he's good looking, he's funny, and he's talented. He's also young and carefree, and does have some balls on him. It's easy to dog on him but he has every right to be confident in his game, and he is being honest about what he's capable of.
 
And Another Thing

You people on here are not familiar with the tabloids in the UK. They're quite a bit more cut throat there than here. Both accusers were extremely questionable in their accounts, one of which (the second chick) was obviously taking an opportunity to cash in. I read articles on both court cases, which were taken from reputable news agencies in the UK, and both women's cases were extremely weak. I was a criminal justice major in college and even wrote several papers on the difficulty in prosecuting sex crimes, and in my opinion as an educated observer, both cases were flimsy. Young guys like cute girls, like to drink and get busy, but aren't usually accused of crimes like that because generally there isn't a motivation unless the girl was truly assaulted, unless you're a celebrity or have money. That Quinten had both, and was a nice guy, so he was a pretty easy target. I wouldn't call him a punk over legal problems without any substantial evidence, and there wasn't any. Both cases would've been thrown out here in the U.S.
On a moral note, insulting him is essentially pointless. On a professional note, he does shoot some mean stick. On a personal note, it sounds to me like his bickering is normal for someone who looks the way he does, is as talented as he is, and is constantly fielding jabs from threatened peers, especially male peers. It's easy to hate on someone who you could just as easily admire and want to emulate, whether any of you would ever admit that or not.
I want to see Quinten practice and see what he's made of against someone like John. John is about as tough a game as you can find, and if I had the game and the money, I would play the guy. You live once and seldom get tested on such a rarefied level. A real man can handle that type of challenge, and I'm curious if either John or Quinten has that trait in them. I hope neither talk themselves out of a match against one another because it is something bigger than the both of them. Let's cut the red tape and have at it. I'd even fly out to watch the match.

i will post money now and i will play john smidt for 30k at 8 ball i will play when im finished working in 4 or 5 months time as i will have to buy a pool cue first and then spend a few weeks playing. we can work out exect dates in near future. forget fighting (unless you want to include this) forget 1 pocket and snooker and all these other games i said. i thought you were an average grinder type pro at best and ill put my money where my mouth is you punk ***** lets organise this game and as you said in your earlier post -------first come beat me on the pooltable than you can take a swing at me if you like.

Come on Quinten. Let's be nice. You both have popped off a bit on the forum and that's all well and nice but that's not what's going to make a pool game between the two of you.

Fdambi had some very nice things to say about you. It's pretty sporty of you to play pool for some big bucks instead of snooker which you are the out and out favorite.

You want to play 8 ball. John wants to play 9 ball.

I know the both of you would like to beat each other on the pool tables and I have to believe that there are a lot of people who would enjoy seeing the two of you play, including myself. You're a pretty confident fellow and I admire that. John is too and I would love to see the two of you have a go at some matches. If the two of you can stay out of the body mutilation discussions, I hope to see the two of you play some pool down the road.

Is there any room for negotiation on the pool game of selection?

ill make this real simple tough guy.you have played 8ball your whole life.i never play it.ill play you 9ball 30ahead for at least 30000.you can come to pensacola ill stake myself.im going to give you some advice though.i would keep the physical threats to a minimum as the rednecks where i live would love to give an attitude adjustment to an egomaniac like you.
 
I am a fan of John's, but I see no reason why 8 ball should not be the game that is played if they do play. Quinten spent most of his career playing snooker, so obviously that would not be a fair game. John spent most of his career playing 9 ball, so obviously that would not be a fair game. 10 ball is too much like 9 ball, so no good. John is a top one pocket player, a game which is rarely played outside the US, so no good. John is a top straight pool player, a game which hardly anyone plays anywhere anymore, so no good.

I see no reason why a long set of 8 ball is not the most fair game here.

Just been on the phone to Taipei.they said they have some players that are happy to play your format snooker then 8ball.they have many under ground players that are jumping at this.they are thinking they just have to send one of the girls to deal with you..hahaha.they said it is not worth the time sending the juniors as there is no show.
I have been told by there coach who goes by the name Eddie(wu,wulun,ko pin yi)that if you ever decide to go to taipei with that mouth of your you will end up in big trouble and lose alot of $$$$.

one other thing i do want to say is.i think i was wrong bringing up the sexual assault stuff as you were found innocent and frankly thats not right for me to say something like that without knowing for sure.so basically im saying im sorry about that and ill never bring it up again.but every since i heard you challenge a guy smaller than you to a fight i lost respect for you.i cant stand bullies .you can try to bully me on the pooltable its not going to be easy i promise you.like i said i will play you 30ahead 9ball for 30000 and i will post money and we can play this month.
 
i would love to see this match happen - but the game of choice appears to be a stumbling block atm. 8-ball is probably quentin's best game and john never plays it.

for me 9-ball is the way to go. and 30 ahead sounds good. whoever wins that will have been the better man on the day.

as for the sexual assault stuff he was found innocent and it does have to be said this happens all the time in the uk increasingly. young women throwing themselves at the footballers mainly and then filing a case for rape/assault, and selling the stories to the sunday tabloids.
