John Schmidt vs Niels Feijen - Schmidt conceeded

I have a question as well for my fellow members:

Would you rather have John Schmidt on this board or Mr. Wilson?

Not exactly a fair question to propose now is it? Nor is it a professional one.

If a pro can't hack it on this board when a few people say negative things about them, while the vast majority of members are very supportive and encouraging, then don't let the door hit you on your way out.

What make's Smashmouth's post intolerable is that his post can affect another human beings livelihood. His crude and rude comments about John's sponsor may affect John's future earnings and even that of JOhn's sponsor.

Smashmouth has a pattern of REGULARLY posting inflammatory posts.

This forum is not designed to destroy a person's way of life, even if you don't agree with what they do, professionally or privately.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions but some of us could improve the way we criticize others.
If that isn't enough Smashmouth is now ridiculing Mr. Wilson, a respected moderator who has the toughest non-paying job on earth. He and the other moderators do a great job of "moderating" IMO.

If someone voices views here, they are damned. This is a public pool forum, right or wrong, the regular posters should be respected a little more. Every poster has a roll, some start good threads, some good post and others fuel to feed the fire etc...

I have seen a few pro's post here. Some add to the forum and ask/answer questions. These are the pro's we need here. Everyone holds JS as a class act and I haven't seen actions to back up the class. Posted to date he hit balls and conceeded match, struck cue from Danny's hands and didn't play a match to go golf (when someone bought him). I guess winning a big event buys a lot of forgiveness. Other than telling people to die, asking for money (it was like spam for a while) and fighting with Danny on here, what has he added? Great shooting doesn't make a great person only great actions on and off the table can.

Ready for the red rep or whatever, but thats just the way it is. I am sure many goig to reply are the ones I like to read and will continue reading. Thats all part of a public forum.
Jason, please take up bowling. That's the only advice I can give you. To say John hasn't contributed to this site is too funny to sum up into words. The TAR All-Around champ has given us two of the best matches ever filmed, and this NG, JS and DH are responsible for it.

You've had a problem with JS for months, and take every chance you can to post about him. 30%+ of your posts are regarding John. Maybe if you'd actually contribute some material aside from smart ass retorts, I could take you seriously, too.

Say a player rakes the balls and doesn't want to concede the match. What's the penalty?

I'm sure a ref would deem it to be loss of match.

6.16 Unsportsmanlike Conduct
The normal penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct is the same as for a serious foul, but the referee may impose a penalty depending on his judgment of the conduct. Among other penalties possible are a warning; a standard-foul penalty, which will count as part of a three-foul sequence if applicable; a serious-foul penalty; loss of a rack, set or match; ejection from the competition possibly with forfeiture of all prizes, trophies and standings points.
Unsportsmanlike conduct is any intentional behavior that brings disrepute to the sport or which disrupts or changes the game to the extent that it cannot be played fairly. It includes
(a) distracting the opponent;
(b) changing the position of the balls in play other than by a shot;
(c) playing a shot by intentionally miscuing;
(d) continuing to play after a foul has been called or play has been suspended;
(e) practicing during a match;
(f) marking the table;
(g) delay of the game; and
(h) using equipment inappropriately.

TAR and matches filmed??? This is AZBilliards forum not TAR. I think you could post a link to the TAR video and pay to watch. Not sure how that adds to the forum... I think you found TAR and matches because of AZ not AZ because of TAR. Keep posting though it is a public forum!

If I'm the owner of a fancy club and celebrities are getting scared away from my club because certain rude people are harassing them then I'm getting rid of the rude nobodies because I know that the celebs help business.

If I own a forum of any kind and celebrities post on it but there are some rude people who are chasing them away I would get rid of them regardless if they were breaking rules or regardless if I was being consistent. The more hits a site gets the more advertisement dollars the site gets and the site STAYS IN BUSINESS.

I want this forum to do well so do what it takes to keep the pros like John posting imo.

oh that's precious, lol, a little showboating there partner?

You are a hypocritical piece of work, you couldn't even respond to my questioning of Charlie Williams and his self promoting on this board...

John wants to turn his back on the forum that backed him all the way to the US open, very nice....
I've contributed to this sport in many ways since my teen years, helped out forum members here and received positive rep, I believe that entitles me to an opinion

Mr Wilson, if it pleases you, ban me without the posturing you twit, please!

the thread requires no further comments from you, just do it, thanks!

I don't see it that way smashmouth. John is a human being and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. All of us humans make mistakes. Do you have any idea what might be going on in John's life that may also add stress? Perhaps you should worry about your own character defects.
Remember what the man said about removing the moat in your own eye before you mess with the splinter in another's.
Mr. Wilson or John Schmidt, that's a hard one. I am glad to have met both of them and happy that they have become a small part of my earthly experience. Both of them are very nice people. I will go with keeping both of em in my life.

The funny part to me is how Smashmouth now has to "posture" when the island is asked what they want.

Slight shift in perspective makes it clear that the member's of the board, the community, would rather have JS for whatever reasons. Just a the worm turning.

I have little patience for people who want to stir the pot and even less for the ones who want to snipe at KNOWN people from behind a curtain of anonymity.

What constitutes value to the community?

Holy crap, a kinder and gentler Jason Robichaud. Damnit, now I have to take you seriously. OK, don't take up bowling just yet. You may be a keeper.

TAR exists because of AZB. They may have done OK on their own, but without the support of AZB, it would be just another failed billiards venture. AZB has done a ton for the development of TAR. I think JCIN would agree with me on that. Schmidt has helped elevate the profile of AZB. If we keep scaring away the pros, who's going to want to join?

I'm reading this thread for the first time and I think comments from Smashmouth such as "he's the biggest flake in the sport with a rich history of such behaviour" are obviously intended to be inflammatory.

As a result, John is probably gone from this forum while Smashmouth is still here. There's something wrong with this picture as Smashmouth is the one who clearly deserves to be banned.

John Schmidt paid his entry fee and competed in the tournament.

Personally, I don't think he owes anybody an explanation. If he wanted to do the Teaberry Jig around the table, that's his business.

This ain't the PGA, MLB, NBA, or NFL. This is pool, the sport where players have to pay their own way. There is no men's organization to speak of. It's each man for himself.

Don't be a stranger, John. There's always a few bad apples in the barrel. There's a lot of sweet ones too! The majority of people on this forum look forward to your posts and enjoy them. If you quit posting, you let the forum bullies and trolls win! :)

Changing the climate a bit, my boyfriend's friend, Tony from Vegas, sent him this link and said it was him when he was 20 with long hair. Tony is an avid boxing enthusiast and has a boxing ring in his back yard in Vegas. I'm still wondering if Tony is on the square or if he's pulling my boyfriend's leg. I've never seen anybody compete in boxing like this. Click on the brown picture:

Not sure what this boxing story has to do with this thread, but that vid clip is from the bad movie "Never Back Down", which I had the displeasure of watching.

I think that says it all. In fact, that is the appropriate response for at least 50% of the thread topics here. As for the incident, if there was a men's tour, he would've been fined just like every other professional player who throws a mid-match tantrum. I'm sure the OB1 guys aren't too happy with it, but as JAM said, "this ain't the PGA, MLB, NBA, or NFL". When you sponsor a pool player, you should set your expectations appropriately.

Nope, it's the APPA - Arguing Pool Players Association.

Maybe you have not had the opportunity to read the ENTIRE thread.

I know it is a habit of some to not read an entire thread before responding. I have been guilty of that myself.

That is the exact same comment somebody made about a dozen posts ago.

Thanks for the reply, though.

There it is. Bingo. I'm down with that kind of thinking as that's life in the business world.

The bottom line is; you want to stay around you don't say stuff that will, or could, damage the site and it's influential members.

Ain't fair? Tough! Go tell somebody that gives a sh!t about your feelings being hurt. You hurt the site. You're gone.

Great analogy.....EXCEPT....how would you like it if some schmuck you didn't work with came to watch you at work, and questioned your every decision you made during the day? How about some guy that just wants to take potshots at you all day decides he's going to blast you for every little thing you did under a microscope that day?

.

Oh I get that too , trust me. And if I give them any crap for it corporate calls and I gotta pay them for the favor. :)

There are a$$holes in every aspect of your life , running away is only going to change the location.
