I thought you guys weren't supposed to ram your press releases in the forum?

***IN BEFORE DELETED***

Wow. They keep growing one way or another despite what we say here. I think they know it's gonna burn up the haters on the forum! Lol. If so they are doing it well. Cant wait to hear what Mark Grifin,JCIN got to say Lol (hand reaching for my popcorn)

I had thought you worked out of the same office as Charlie Williams. Well, at least you guys use the same computer to post here on the forum, right?

Congratulations to Charlie and Johnny. May their union exist happily ever after.

Congrats to both Johnny and Dragon. Johnny is a superstar in every sense and a true brand name in our sport. Dragon has most definitely latched on to a winner.

Conflict of Interest

This appears to me to be a serious conflict of interest. Espeacilly since Dragon Promotions Charlie Williams is a member of the ABP and Now that Johnny Archer is a member of Dragon promotions.

The way they treated the US Open personnel was a disgrace.

If I was a sponsor of a big tournament, I would love to sue both organizations for trying to ruin my tournament.

This is wrong, the ends don't justify the means.

I will no longer support any ABP or Dragons Promotion, sorry US Open. I guess I should consider myself fortunate. I am saving a lot of money not going to the US Open.

See you at the Derby.

My only question is if Johnny knew he signed with DP or if he found out when he saw the press release.

Besides, the ABP and DP are soooo three months ago. Wait till everyone sees the next bomb that's gonna drop on American pro pool.

The hits just keep on rollin.....

Since you know who I am I would like to ask who you are. Wasting my breath I know.

You are such a tease. It's not nice to be "in the know" and post stuff like this.

Why not support the Open just because you don't want to contribute to Dragon or the ABP? Neither of these are involved with Barry's event as far as I know. Hell, it doesn't even meet the requirements to be an ABP points event.

I understand how you feel. It is upsetting the way these two well-known American pool pros treated the U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship promoter. In some respects, the action taken by the ABP was done without the knowledge of all the ABP members. In this sense, it may not be prudent to hold all ABP members accountable for the action one ABP member took on their behalf.

The U.S. Open, though, is one of my favorite pro-caliber tournaments. The Derby City Classic is a pool mecca for players of all caliber, to include railbirds. Thank goodness for Greg Sullivan and Barry Behrman, et al.

I disagree.

While it may be true that just a few have taken actions in the name of ABP, yours is the conclusion that many players hope the promoters, sponsors, and even fans, will reach. While I might sympathize with anyone whose view has been either misunderstood or misrepresented, the fact remains that all ABP players are responsible for what has happened and all who wish to can come out publicly and make it clear they are not on board with what's going on and that they were not consulted regarding ABP's platform.

Thanks for your thoughts. I appreciate you taking the time to share yours.

I'm not sure if you remember, but there actually were some ABP members who did, in fact, express their lack of knowledge about some previous press releases posted by the ABP on this website. Some, if not most, ABP members do *not* post on AzBilliards Discussion Forum.

Yes, I do remember, and the two or three that came forward are most definitely deserving of some compassion here. Those who disapprove and remained silent, however, do not get a free pass from me.
