Larry Nevel vs Johnny Archer

New AZ'er, but old pool nut chiming in

I live in the Greenville area.

I spoke with Larry last night, and the match is still on. The room owner (Ray Welch) is charging $5.00 general admission, and $20.00 for VIP seats.

They are going to play Thursday night until they get done or until 1:00 AM, and then (if need be) continue on Friday, times to be TBA I'm sure.

I'm excited to see this kind of action back around town again!

Look forward to meeting some of you.

To everyone I have action with:

kentw
Thunderball
gpeezy
Charlie Hustle

Unless contacted otherwise, I will assume that the player in the lead at the conclusion of their play is the winner whether the entire 10-ahead is complete or not. Therefore, our sweat bets will be paid in full whether the set is complete in 1 hour or if at the time they stop one player is one game or more winner. All bets will be considered push if they are even at the conclusion (not the 10 hour point, if they continue to play the bet is live).

Please PM me if this is an issue.
Sounds good to me. Will paypal the next day if I lose, and expect the same if I win.

I would like to place a little wager, but I don't have Paypal to transfer through. I was hoping to actually get down to Easley and watch to match live and place some wagers there, but work (and ridiculous airfare) and put a stop to that idea.

If you would wanna work something out with payment via another method shoot me a PM and we can talk about it.

I'll make a little sweat bet with you, if you can't work things out with iba. Anything from 100 to 1,000 is fine with me. We can post a larger bet on site. I won't be there but I can get the money there in one day. Let me know what you want to do.

That will make the match very interesting. Pockets that tight are tough for anybody to run out on.....

There's been alot of money won and lost on this table. Ask Don Steven's about last week here.

I do not have a wager with suprnva. Jay you may feel free.

any coverage/updates?

Is there any way for non-attendees to get updates during the match? I hadn't seen any mention of video coverage... :(

Is anyone capable and willing to post updates in progress?

Just talked with Larry .
Format is 10 ball .Race to 10 ahead .Starts at 7pm need to get there by 6pm for a seat .
Should be a blast !!
Later Bill

Is this ten ball or nine ball? I've seen both listed here. Also, is this Thursday? Might try to make it if at all possible.

Unless there is something VERY different about these tables it will not make a difference to JA. The fact that its in LN's home room will make no difference other than the local spectators will obviously cheer when LN wins a rack or plays a half decent shot. Still nothing that JA has not seen before. Also he will get some time on the table before the match to get adjusted to it if needed.
I saw JA get off a plane after traveling 6 hours go from the airport into a strange room and break and run 4 racks on a very tight table. All I am saying is take out the "it's LN's table" and just go with the players skill level. jmo

Mark is right it dosent matter what equipment it is, Johnny can adjust faster than anyone. Over 20 years on the road will teach anyone how to adjust fast to the conditions. Guys who only play out of one spot have a harder time adjusting. This also applies to weaker players, the more you travel the faster you adjust.

Looking to get a bet or two down on the match tonight. Every time I bet the way everbody else does I take a kickin so I am gonna take Larry, all I am asking for is 6 to 5 from Archer bettors.

I ain't gonna say the window is open but it is cracked a little. Let's see who has a little gamble in 'em.

it will be set up in about 60-90 days at the longest.

Sounds good, It looks like I will be doing some stuff in Texas around then so I think it would be easy for me to get to Vegas, I'll give you 25 points per frame best of 17 for $10.00. Yes that ten dollars

Will you two quit talking about snooker:D

I'm trying to get a little action from anyone on here that think Johnny is stealin'. I tried to bet on Johnny with a few people but everybody said they needed big odds or wouldn't bet Larry at all. Now I drop my line and take the other side so I can get a little sweat and still get no action.:scratchhead:

Am I gonna have to bet Larry even to get a little something goin'?

I have a serious problem gambling with people I like. It is more the bragging rights I am after. However I will play you some $1,000 sets :) just kidding. The problem is also if I go I will be staying at his place and WHEN I win the room rate will go from free to $500 a night. You should see this table though, when I saw it is was all there but taken apart but I can tell a good table when I see one. I can't wait, I may play some snooker in San Francisco as they have a table there at Shoreline.
