MIA - AZ Missing in Action List

I get updates from 9ballgirl aks Wendy on a weekly basis... she's still working and living in NYC.

9 Ball Girl (Wendy) and CarolNYC (Carol Clark), two very nice ladies who used to post on here frequently, as well as Billiards Digest forum.

Both are lovely people who never had anything negative to say about anyone.

Their enthusiasm and love for pool was infectious. I always enjoyed their company on the rail and on this forum. Hope they're doing well! :)

The Captain PM'ed some of the old timers recently. It sounded like health concerns stopped his pool playing; so he's moved on to other hobbies. It was nice hearing from him.

Now who here knows anything about "drivermaker." He could really stir the pot (banned). I definitely miss him.

P.S. - I seriously liked Gremlin. He always had a picture and a story about one of the women players he stalked....errrr.....liked. Cheap shot...couldn't help myself; but I was serious that I liked him.

"drivermaker" is still around and doing well in life.

Scott

Edit: Oops, I see your question has already been answered by Tate and Koop.

JAM...Yep, you're right! That is definitely NOT Brian Keller, although he is from Richmond too!

Hi, Scott! I think that's a different Virginia player. The person JDB is speaking
about is a young man who had a whole lot of enthusiasm about pool when I first
met him, about 2003-2004 era. He traveled to Tennessee and took lessons from
Jimmy Reid, and he also drove up each week to New York City to get some lessons
from Tony Robles. He lived in Richmond, Virginia, for a spell.

I think -- and I may be wrong -- he lost his heart to a local Southern belle in Richmond,
and he ended up with a broken heart. I have not heard from him since.

That's VApoolplayer depicted on the right at the 2005 Virginia State 9-Ball Championship,
which happened to have been won by the player on the left.

Boy , I tell ya , I miss that TheWheelingKid feller !
Now there was a poster that could write an entire run-on paragraph , and still have ya wondern' wat ekzakaly he wuz tryn ta sey . . .

Oh , wait , I don't miss him enough . . . .he's BACK as snNorris3142 , making as little sense as ever ! :frown:

Somebody used the word "crawfish" in another post, and it occurred to me that I have seen Crawfish on here in some time. The profile shows his last post sometime in September... He was fun to read. Hopefully back sometime soon.

Sorry guys...Im here now

Lots has been going on with me…had a lot of medical issues that I wont go into now, but it looked like for a while I was not going to make it. After the tragedy of losing my 9yr old daughter in 2007 and now this, I took care of my son and he will never have to worry when he gets older…

Luckily, after the operation and recovery I am 100% better. I feel like a new person…funny how being told you only have a few months to a yr to live, that changes your outlook on life. I have since started living for me and doing things that I have always wanted to do….bought me a new Harley Road King, I am currently about to start to get my private pilot certificate and once I finish that school, I am looking into buying me a Piper Cherokee 140/160, or Piper Cherokee Warrior..I have always kicked myself in the butt for not doing it in Alaska when I had the chance, so now I am going for it.

I want to apologies to a lot of my friends on here for not staying in contact, but with the illness I had, my memory was nowhere close to what it should have been…so if I owe you money, I was not avoiding you because of neglect, I just could not remember…so please call me and we will discuss that and I will make it right immediately.

A few of you have known about my situation, and have not said anything because I have asked you not to…I truly appreciate you guys and I cant say how much it meant to me that you said nothing about it on here. I just wanted to keep the illness as private as I could.

I truly appreciate AZB, and have had the time of my life on here. I hope that we will have many more years of fun on here!

To those of you who knew of my situation, Cuephoric, Jackson, Mike Gartland, Tramp Steamer, Bigtruck, Kicken' Chicken and 1 or 2 more on here, I appreciate all your prayers….your prayers were answered!

Shawn;

Glad that you are back and in good shape.

Later tonight, I will lift a glass in your honor with my buds at the pool hall. Cheers!

I believe azb is a bit more than just a virtual family.

Best,
Brian kc

That's a rough few years. Glad things are on the upswing.

Shawn,

Welcome back. I hope you still have plans for that pool room.

I can't remember if you owe me money either. So let's just assume that you do and we'll take it from there, OK?

Seriously, though - glad you're back after your ordeal.

Chris

Does anybody know if Shorty is around somewhere?

It's been at least a couple of years since I've heard from him.

Chris

edit - found Chad on facebook, he's doing fine...

Looks like Manwon is on the MIA list - good luck Craig, hope to see you again.

Shawn (FTGokie) got his pilots license. He bought a plane and was flying all over God's green creation. At least the last time I spoke with him.

Probably put his playing on hold for a bit. Things can happen when the flying bug hits you.

That's good to know - was wondering about him too.

Deacon

Deacon, met him a couple times, nice guy. Fell off the radar a while ago,
used to sell the cue extensions...

Hope he's well.

I miss ridinda9 and the Tramp.
Kept us on our toes...and their humor didn't go un-noticed either.

Um, yea...im here somewhat. I have recently purchased a 2nd airplane! I bought a 1965 Piper Cherokee 180. I have played maybe 2 hrs total since getting my license. Im flying 2-3x a week. My airplanes are in a rental hanger about 7 miles from my house and I am usually there every night...Just maily lurking now until I can get back to playing! I am going to sell my Archer though and keep the Cherokee. I am going to put it on a couple of sites and should make a hefty profit off it since I got such a good deal on it.
