I understand that Mike is starting a new 8 Ball League starting April 1, 2014. The league will feature a varying ball in hands per game to the lesser players as handicaps. It is scheduled to be on the cover of Billiards Digest in January and will also be featured on AZ Billiards.

Wish Mike the best of luck in his new venture!!!

The word "global" is key.

Maybe Mike is helping a friend spend his dough incognito. ;)

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the poolroom, just when you thought the IPT was dead it has risen like a phoenix from the ashes!

Global Pool League? Man I complain when I have to drive back from the NW side of Indy on league night. The travel back from Thailand is REALLY going to be a pain. Probably have to take Fridays off.

If Sigel's global pool league has STRONG backing, just like the IPT did, I guarantee Keith McCready will come out of retirement and sign up. The IPT was the best thing that ever happened for players like Keith when it came to a professional venue. Keith still speaks very highly of the IPT today, to include Kevin Trudeau. Mike Sigel, not so much, but that may be player rivalry. ;)

Yes, the IPT folded, but so do a lot of businesses. The constant hate for Kevin Trudeau is ridiculous, considering some of pool's high-profile people, INCLUDING some members of this forum, have gained their wealth from unsavory ways. I'll just leave it at that.

It is tracked by a computer data base. The league specifics will be published shortly by Mike.

We get it -- you got paid. A lot of others did not. KT is a scam artist. People get paid by scam artists all the time. This doesn't mean they are not scam artists.

It's that simple really.

I don't think it's ridiculous. If I stung you for $_______, you'd probably go looking for the guy and your constant praising of the guy would turn to constant knocking. You did well w/ the IPT, but at the expense of others who the man robbed. That's a fact. The bottom line is you made out on the +, hence your view of the man. I made out on the severe -, hence my view of the man.

We've been back and forth about this exact topic in the past and I don't want to rehash old emotions. The only reason I even posted what I said is because you said people's hatred for the man is ridiculous, which is totally ridiculous.

Doesn't have anything to do with getting paid. It has to do with how the TOUR was envisioned. It gave many players hope for a real tour.

Some of this forum's high-profile members are scam artists to the nth degree, but nobody utters a peep about it and continue to put them on a pedestal, as if they're God's gift to pool.

Kevin Trudeau poured MILLIONS in pool, tens of millions, which is more money than any other entity or person that I've known in my lifetime of following the pool circuit.

You're 100% correct.

That's why it's such a shame that all of that is negated by the fact he flat-out robbed/heisted so many people concurrent to his other blessings. You're blessed to be on the blessed side of the equation.

We didn't do well with the IPT. We still have close to $10,000 of clothes that Keith will probably never wear. We're stuck as far as expenses.

You are certainly entitled to how you feel, but I think the continued ridicule of Kevin Trudeau, a man who spent approximately $10 million to make something positive happen, is wrong. If he was the Dalai Lama or Mother Teresa, people would still hate him because his business model failed.

Yes, the IPT was a failure, but I give the man credit for trying. I see businesses rise and fall all the time in my industry. It is a shame, yes, that some business models are flawed from the get-go and have no shot at success, but this is life.

I sent a man 50 bucks on Prodigy years ago for some pool balls. He stiffed me. I feel bad about it, but it's time to move on. The difference between that man that stiffed me and the IPT is that the man was going to stiff me, no matter what happened. The IPT did try to effect a change for the better in pool. The IPT was not formed to rip off people. It was formed to create a better pool world. Yes, it failed. It is a shame.

Correct me if I'm wrong Jam. I don't believe you guy's came out ahead when you figure travel, hotel, food, suits, and other misc. But I think if the IPT continued Keith would come out ahead. The players did get treated like the pros they are. Johnnyt

PS: It's impossibile for me to type two lines before you type a book. LOL. Johnnyt

Exactly right, Johnnyt. We invested in the IPT vision, and both Keith and I were sad to see it fold. I sacrificed my business, time spent with my beloved Sammy Boy, and money I borrowed to follow the IPT tournament trail.

Today, those who hate Kevin Trudeau also despise me for sticking up for him and the IPT. They don't understand why.

Well, my life was changed negatively when the IPT came tumbling down, but I fought back and grabbed the reins again. I appreciate the memories I have, good memories, for my time with the IPT, but I'm sure glad I didn't quit my day job. In hindsight, I should have not invested as much as I did in the IPT vision, but sometimes you gotta roll the dice and hope for the best. ;)
