Kirkwood would be a cool choice.
Charlie Williams has a ton of winning team experience and Shannon Daulton with his rowdy southerner charm and powerhouse skills

Tony Chohan would also be interesting

My other picks would have to be Johnny Archer, Danny Harriman, Buddy Hall (yes, he can still play) and definitely a few others. I like Gabe Owen too, but I think of him more as a one pocket player.

Shane can hear just fine...when he WANTS to. Fortunately, he can turn his hearing aids down or off, when he wants to ignore nits like you. Shane Van Boening is the epitome of what attitude and character the U.S.A. should want to project to the world...in pool or anything else!

If we want to have any chance to beat the European team we need to send our best, not who will bring the best TV ratings. The team should consist of Archer, VanBoening, Morris, Deuel, and Davis.

You're absolutely right, which is why I would swap out Davis for Stevie Moore. Hillbilly and Rodney could be swapped as well...but that's not so clear cut in my eyes.

I've gotta give the nod to earl over Johnny right now, especially in the Cup considering his singles match comeback and Johnny's blown shots in that pivotal doubles match.

I think the other 4 are the clear top 4 guys in the USA.

I'll try to call dubya up and see if he'll give a temporary citizenship to Efren for next year.

I think if the US pick a young team like this and stick with it over the next few years they wold give us a really good challenge. I like to see Europe win but a fairer playing field would be a lot better.
