Most balls on the break?

What is the most balls on the break you've witnessed? 8-ball, 9-ball and 10-ball would all be interesting to know.

I've knocked in 6 balls with 8-ball, and I've seen 7 balls drop in 9-ball. The guy was left with the 9 and another ball (and cueball), and didn't get the runout :)

Danny Harriman made 6 balls on the break in the 7-Ball Challenge at the ESPN special held in Baltimore several years ago.

The BEST video I've seen, though, is of Alex Pagulayan breaking the balls in 9-ball against Santos in the semifinals of the 2004 BCA Open in Vegas.

Alex breaks, makes 6 balls, and ends up losing the game to Santos. You gotta love Alex's spirit in this video clip. Click here and enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKXykcdxJzM :thumbup:
 
I made 6 on the break in 9 ball (including the 9) once but unfortunately jumped the cue ball off the table. So, like Alex, I also lost the game.

It looks like 7 out of 9 has happened several times. The one I witnessed however, was on a 7-foot barbox. That has to be pretty rare. It was witnessed by many, but not on video.
 
They use to play alot of 6 ball here

In the 80's & 90's 6 ball was a popular gambling game here in Houma...2 local guys made all 6 while gambling against other locals...I've made 5 out of 6 once when i had my Rest & Bar along time ago..only once & the ball that didnt go was the money ball.
 
I had posted in one of the threads that JAM linked to...

And a recent thread about the strangest thing you've witnessed. I made six stripes and nothing else on a barbox playing eightball once. And I've made 6 balls playing nineball, the nine also fell.

At one time I saw a video where a guy broke a 9-ball rack and made all 9. I would imagine it can be found on YouTube somewhere.

Here is the link I was talking about, but note that someone on here said it's "fake." I guess that means it wasn't a proper rack, but rather setup like a trick shot. Still pretty cool to see.

I made 7 balls playing on a 7' Valley. The balls on the table after the break were the cue ball, 2 ball, and 7 ball. I was playing my good friend Dallas Benjamin sets for $50.00.
 
I was practicing 9ball once on a bar table, and made 5 on the break. There were two couples playing a couple of tables over, they heard the break and looked up and started freaking out because they assumed I was playing 8ball and had just made 11. It was pretty fun.

Nevel making 10 on the break - thats just insane!
 
I also dropped 6 balls playing 9 ball as well. I was new to pool and was just practicing the break over and over. When I dropped 6, I tried to run out the remaining 3 and failed - ha ha :embarrassed2:. Like I said, I was new to pool and had no clue what I was doing. I just figured that since the break was the start of each game, I would learn that first.

It was pretty funny, because at the end of the day, one of the regulars came up to me and marveled that I was "breaking like a pro". I was using a body break and my entire body was airborne for an instant and my cue extended so far that it seemed that I would actually strike the 1 ball with my cue. He didn't ask me to gamble that day, but laughed when he actually saw me try to shoot after the break.

That vid is fake as a stop motion of it will reveal. The "left" corner ball goes straight into the side (impossible). The 1B & 2B go straight thru the rack (on top of one another no less) into the lower left corner pocket. I could say more but that's sufficient.

Is it me or does santos look like a pinoy version of SVB?
 
Balls on the break

After playing for 49 years, I have made 6 balls on the break in 8 ball, and I made 7 balls once in 9 ball. I have made 6 balls in 9 ball a few times.
 
I made 5 stripes and 4 solids, playing 8 ball or course, one time in San Antonio.

Of course, the only shot I had left was a long table bank shot. Luckily, I made it and got out! Did lose the set though. :(
