Mueller's Sporting Goods

It seems like everyone agrees that Muellers is a great billiard business.
Could it be that someone returned the case and they re-old it as new because it looked un-used.
Whatever the problem i'm inclined to believe that the op went off on them and they decided he wasn't worth the hassle over a few dollars.

LMAO...

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to TATE again.
I tried.

Thanks Koop - you're too nice. I actually needed to take some of my own advice not long ago.

About a month ago, I was driving down the freeway behind a truck, when some large gravel started leaking out of it's tailgate. My car got hit by a at least 3 rocks and the windshield cracked. That truck had probably damaged a lot of cars.

I jotted down the contractor's name on the truck and license plate number. When I got home I called and left a message for the contractor. Fortunately, I had glass coverage, but to get the factory glass (BMW) I had to pay extra.

The next day, I still hadn't heard from the contractor. I was a little angry, but mailed a polite letter to him a few days later, once the widshield was fixed, along with the receipt. I only charged for my actual payout - $225.

A few weeks had passed without a word. I felt like I was being ignored and was drawing a negative conclusion. I called from work and despite being a little angry, left a polite message asking if they had received my letter. Anyway, I got home and there was a re-imbursement check in the mail that same day.

I went in and said to my wife "wow, that's nice I got the check - I was getting angry they didn't respond to my phone call a few weeks ago". She says "oh, I forgot to tell you. The contractor had called you back and left a message for you to call him. Sorry!".

Needless to say, I was really happy that I didn't go off on him and leave a nasty message!

Most dealings I have had with Mueller's has gone well. Few times I had issues because I am a retailer. Once I ordered $400 worth of stuff with a $49 minimum for free shipping and they refused to take off the shipping. Told me it was for individuals only and not retailers. Another time they would not give me quantity discounts on some items. Which I thought was strange. Ordered $800 worth of dart flights on clearance and they charged me full retail so I cancelled the order. I guess they just prefer individuals and not to do bulk business. Which is strange they offer the bulk discounts? But mostly they have done well.

Whenever buying use a credit card

Whenever buying, use a credit card, you can stop payment if needed. That always gets you the best "customer service" when things go sideways. Never bought with Mueller's no opinion on that.

I've bought from Mueller's several times a year for 6 or 7 years. No hassles or complaints.

Don't get me started about Predator though - I will be OVERJOYED to slag those **&^*&%ers.

I have never had an issue with them. Have always recieved orders quickly and customer service is great. I would suspect it was an accident the OP recieved a case with chalk in it.

Shipped a pre-dot Meucci shaft for a new ferrule and tip to be put on and to clean and wax the shaft. This was right before Christmas one year. I emailed them and they told me they couldnt find the shaft and I freaked out and bought a black-dot (mistake) to replace it. Then after I find out I hate the shaft Meuller's called and said they found the shaft and I got it back right after Christmas and was clean as a whistle. Best work I ever seen.

Just hate I dished out $150 for a raggedy black dot instead of just filing insurance on my old shaft. Other than that everything has went well and me and my brother buy tips, covers, and a cue from them with NO problems.

Muellers always gives exceptional service to me.the OP may be a little hard to deal with.

I did business with them back when they were still Cornhusker. They were respectable then and I've had no problems with them in modern times either.

If the OP went off on Mueller's like he did with you (I noticed that thread is now MIA), I'm inclined to agree with you.

ive used them for quite a while and never once had an issue. flawless transactions each and every time. last ordered received as early as last week =\ hope all goes well for you!

Sorry to hear you had a problem. I have always had NO trouble what so ever in my dealings with Mueller's for the past 15 years.

These people try to rip you off and then say it's your fault . When you prepay for goods , you should get what you pay for . NOT with Mueller's ... They tried to sell me a used cue case , it had chalk in the shaft tubes and in the pouch . When I sent it back they said they don't want to do any business with me any more . I've had other discrepancies with them in the past but have always blown it off . Like taking my money and later informing me that it is on back order or no notification at all .The owner has a lousy attitude for doing business ... I will not recommend this company to anyone again . I would not want anyone else to be screwed !!!!!:angry::angry:

I have bought from them a few times without any problems. I could see how this could possibly have happened. If the item was on display customers could have stuck their cues into it testing the fit and that would have got the chalk in it. I have had that happen when I used to retail pool cues and cases when I owned a pool room.

I have bought several items from Muellers and have always been happy with them. Quick response to email and quick shipping.

I had the same "free shipping" problem you had with Mueller's.

Amen to that. Ryan Theewen ("ratcues" here on AZB) in their cue repair department does absolutely INCREDIBLE work. I recently had him rebuild and recondition a Meucci model 97-11 (a cue that has more sentimental value than actual value), and I was stupefied at the result. The cue was banged-up and badly warped in the handle area (yes, the butt itself was warped). Needless to say, after Ryan did his magic and sent it back to me, the cue *now* looks and plays like brand-new. I will be taking some pictures of it and creating a separate thread on it in a few days, because I want people to know just what can be done with an old warped cue. And the customer service could not be better -- he stayed in touch with me the whole time, giving me progress updates, etc.

I've done business with Muellers over the past decade, and they've been fantastic every time. To be honest, I've also done business with the other top billiard supply companies (e.g. Seyberts, Ozone, Atlas, Border, et al.) and they've also had great service. It just goes to show that when you get to *this* size of company, you're doing business with a company that's been in business for a long time, and have built a reputation. Otherwise they wouldn't be in business, or wouldn't be that size. I would say don't let a one-off bad transaction spoil the soup.

Agree completely. That's been my experience. Especially ejoy Ryan Thewans (Rat Cues) good work and service. I wish shipping was less but that's just part of the products price.

I have never had a problem with them. Ryan Thween who works for them and also makes RAT cues posts here as well from time to time. I have conversed with him via pvt on some questions several times and he has been top notch. Hope you get everything sorted.

Since this thread turned into a testimonial on the good quality of Muellers I have changed the title of the thread to better reflect the content of the thread.
