I just found this table and want to spiff it up a bit. It's all original including the paint. I plan on buffing out the aprons but what should I use on the chrome and aluminum castings to bring them back to life? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

atthecat...What a great table! Looks to be in REALLY nice condition. Were the rails and slates that good too? Do you mind telling us what you paid for this fine table? Nice find!

I just purchased the exact same table. UW Madison is tearing down the Union building. In the basement, was a bowling alley and pool room with 9 Gold Crown AR-6100's. Same color as yours. Not near as nice of shape though.

Russ aka "poolhustler" found a beautiful GC. His table is the nicest looking GC I have ever scene. He would be one to talk to about the castings and feet. Hope you don't mind I posted a pic of the foot!?!

So if I come to Cali, would I get an invitation to come check out and play (loose) a few games with you on this table? Or do I have to play on the kids table? I promise I won't use the tan chalk, I converted to blue chalk last week :D
 
Gold Crown I tables totally rock. My dad is the proud owner of one for 40 years and it still plays great today.

If you live in the New York area and have never played on a Gold Crown I, there are quite a few of them at Jean Balukas' room, Hall of Fame Billiards in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
 
I had a GC1 before I was married. Bought from a guy who had the aluminum polished looked like chrome. Not sure how he did it or what he used. I would start with Mothers aluminum polish.

I now have a GCII. Bought it from an old timer who worked in some metals plant. He polished all the aluminum and dipped it in gold lacquer. The only problem was he took a paint brush and brown paint to try to make the white look wood grain YIKES did it look sick. I stripped it all down and sprayed it myself. Take a look! Had it now for 9 years.........plays great!

After seein RealKingCobra's pocket work............I am not happy with the way mine look. But, other than that the mechanic did a jam up job.

As for yours. I would try Mothers and a buffer for the aluminum, and painting was not that hard. There was a guy on AZ who did onein blue and white and looked GREAT!

Try Never Dull wadding on the aluminum and chrome. Very good aluminum cleaner and polish. Works on the Harleys just fine. Also AutoSol Metal Polish, comes in a tube. Will polish aluminum to a chrome like finish that you can see your face in. Just like the legs on the other guys table. Trust me, I don't put crap on my Harleys.
 
Thanks guys for all of your help. I'm going to try that aluminum polish Blue Hog.
I want to keep the original pant as much as I can. I put some rubbing compound on the aprons and it helped a bunch! The only thing I have to paint is the ball box. It's cracked and chipped.
