My night out at the IPT event

Your information is incorrect. Several players, who post on AZ, who played in qualifiers have reported getting multiple payments, two that come to mind immediately are Oscar Dominguez and Frank the Barber.
Even though Oscar and Frank received multiple payments, it doesn't mean that Roy's information is incorrect. From the very begining some IPT members received more checks than others. Some were getting payments and others were not. I do believe that leveled out and there are fewer discrepancies than there were in the past. Knowing this, its very possible that Roy's information is 100% correct.

Just please again, don't use first class & pizza in the same sentence

By the way - were they large pizzas??

Better watch yourself, there "R" quite a few of us from Chicago, and the pizza there "stands alone" and considered a delicacy, plus you don't want the Italians against you, I think Abruzzo would back me up on this:D :D :D :D :D

I think Freddy and KT would work very well together...

Not all checks have been received BTW.

They still haven't paid anything to all the players who put up 2000 $ to qualify for a tournament that never happened.

I will never forgive IPT, Kevin Trudeau, Deno J. Andrews for stiffing these people.

I don't give a shit if all the IPT-pros have got their money, as long as the players who entered qualifiers haven't got a dime. The pros has got some of the qualifiers money, and that doesn't feel right to me.

WHEN the players who entered qualifiers have got their money back, I will PERHAPS give IPT a new chance.

Why would the players who tried to qualify for a tournament be entitled to anything unless they got 1st or 2nd? All the others knew that if they didn't get 1st or 2nd, they would not get an entry into the tournament. So I agree that the top 2 of each qualifier should get their money back, but disagree that there is any entitlement to the others. If I'm wrong here, please elaborate on your point.

Since you weren't there -- and I was -- it appears that you have an agenda with the IPT -- for whatever reason. Since everybody has now been paid, where does the stiffing part come in? ... And the Lord said, "Father forgive them...." I just checked and verified that Busty and Corey both got paid what they were supposed to. Busty got 5k and Corey got a decent 2nd place check --- the amount he was promised. If you think this broadcast is a cheap operation you are very wrong. The soundstage that the broadcast emanates from, is one very large floor in a very large building owned by one of the new sponsors. A very rich, billionaire Greek. The crew was all very professional and qualified. The soundstage lounge where we ate and could also watch the match on various large HD TVs was outfitted with expensive sofas and chairs and was large enough to put about 30 pool tables
in. Jay, give these guys a break and just wait and see what happens. Listen to the Beard. How easy do you think it is to con a Sicilian pool hustler like myself?
Now for the "first-class operation" knocker who denigrated the pizza, beef. sausage and salad buffet, what should they have provided free for the 50, quote 50, attendees? Chateaubriand?

the Beard

I got stiffed, and still stuck tons from that mistake. We'll never get paid back from that heist, I'm sure. The only reason they have a vague concept of how to stream at all is because my company educated them. I feel confident I understand what really went down. How easy is it to con a Sicilian pool hustler? Easier than it is to con me twice with the same gig.

No disrespect to you Beard, but you're on the wrong side of the fence on this one.

Roy was even correcting himself at exactly the same time I posted so obviously he found out his information was incorrect.

Don't pick on Freddy, he's in the later stages of life and trying to latch onto the IPT to 'feather his own nest'.
I even heard that he's in the process of changing his own autograph to "Freddy The Bird". :)

I feel that pool is heading into the right direction, but as a professional player I would be more concerned about the pace then anything else. Reason being that I would like to finally get paid instead of waiting for promises that never have come to fruition. I'm 64 years old and have been playing pool for over 50 years, 45 years as a professional.I would like to put this in the right prospective, not for me but for the players that are younger and pursuing a livlihood in pool. Maybe Trudeau will not succeed in his vision , and truthfully ,we really don't know for sure what it is,but what we should know based on his style that it probably figures to be big if successful. Now is not the right time to try to desroy what he's trying to build ,especially now that we know a little more about him as a person.Use whatever we know about him as a tool that will give us leverage and the ability to go forward with him or to choose another path with our direction. At this point we have nothing at stake and nothing to lose , but a lot to gain if he can promote our game.

Billy this is all well and good to say. BUT, if this guy schedules another event and tells the players to trust him and that the money is put up, or in escrow, then shame on them if they go for it. He has proven who he is by his actions. He is not to be trusted IMHO.

Of course, I don't really believe this will ever go beyond two man exhibition matches at this point. The IPT tournament days are behind them, unless KT can find someone to bail him out. Then we'll have a new charlatan to examine on here. I say to all once again, TRUST, BUT VERIFY!

For me I'd rather have a sure single or double, then an iffy HR.

I was born & raised in NY - I understand fully that there is no compare to Brooklyn pizza (it is the water) but my italian side of the family would never call pizza first class. Many italian weddings, confirmations, etc. attended & never pizza served at a first class event.

I am surprised with the Greek billionaire in attendance that they didn't serve first class gyros.

Just to go over Freddie's thought processes again - We should pay for a pool player's autograph & pizza is first class when you are hosting 50 or more people.

Tell Abruzzo that we are looking forward to seeing him, Claw & Bandy in May.

Freddy, you have to be a little forgiving of those that hate KT and the IPT some who have somewhat valid reasons and others that just like to hate even though they have no involvement.
Jay went through some rough times with KT, Dino and the IPT. From what I read that was posted on AZ, first was the debacle on him getting paid for backing Cliff Joyner. Eventually, he did get paid off but not before some pretty heavy and heated exchanges. Second, when he showed up at one of the IPT venues, either Vegas or Reno, security escorted him out of the casino.
I am sure some others have horror stories also but Jay's probably rates right up there and I am probably only aware of a small part of the story.

P.S. They still owe me for the Qualifiers entries I paid for Cliff. I never got a dime of that.

I was one of the 50 invitees to the Bustamonte/Duel Internet match game last night. I would first like to say how amazed I am at all the criticism leveled at last night's festivities by so many AZ forum contributors. With all the beefing and squawking about the sound, and interruptions caused by a problem with the Internet streaming company in Calif., something that the IPT had absolutely no control over, you would think that the IPT was charging a Pay Per View price to see the show. It was a freebie, fellas, a freebie. Sheez. An ambitious, expensive attempt to get something started again for pool players. I, for one, had a good time. In my view the whole operation was a first class operation. The 50 sweators were treated to a lavish free buffet of food and drink before the match. Pizza from Giordano's, Italian Beef, Sausage, Poor Boy sandwiches, and salad. They had a sexy waitress bringing in free drinks all during the match. When I asked Grady if the IPT had finished paying off all their old debts to the players, he said the final payment went out and now everybody has gotten their money. Terrific, if true. With so much groaning about the IPT payouts I think back to my Johnston City days whereby you would have to stay 3 weeks and beat the 64 best players in the world to win $2000 for each event and $2000 for the all-around. I was dumb enough back then to think that that was generous. That should give you some idea of how poor other pool payouts were at that time. Those of you who watched the match online surely must have noticed the bevy of lovelies that were flitting around; The score girl, the director, the waitress, Bustamonte's 3 Filipino girlfriends, Rachel Abbink, and about 8 or 9 more beauties that had my old pal Mike Sigel thinking about getting hair plugs.
The best part, however, was the match itself. Bustamonte shot the numbers off the balls. Man, did he play good! Corey didn't really play badly, but Busty was breaking so good that Corey didn't get to the table often enough to win. On that slow IPT cloth, Busty was shattering the balls with his break. They're gonna do it all again on Mar. 5th. Hopefully, they will have the streaming problems ironed out by then. No matter, I'm still looking forward to the next one.

The Beard,

(Jeez, I just realized that this post is so IPT positive, maybe Trudeau might give me a job, or at least a couple of free self-help books.)

Get my bank DVD. There is a kiss beating lesson on it that I showed to an attentive Bustamonte at DCC.

RIGHT ON FREDDIE; TRUDEAU SHOULD LET YOU SHOW SOME OF YOUR BANKS FROM THE DVD AND PAY YOU UPFRONT TO EDUCATE US AS WELL AS ENTERTAIN US.

Its typically not a good idea for someone who was able to attend a catered event having a good ol time watching it, to scold people who didn't get to see it, when it was promised that we could. Like....Hey guys Freddy here, yeah I know you guys didn't get to see a match you were looking forward to, but hey come on! Oh and I know I was there and got to see the whole thing while you were wondering what was going on...but seriously you should let that go....I mean I had a good time, why can't you!!!!!?????

the Beard

How easy is it to con a Sicilian pool hustler yourself? Give you some free food, pretty girls to look at, a front row seat and a wad of cash... for some damage control when the IPT suckers people into watching a "free match" only to let it cut for the purpose of trying to convert basic members into paying premium members. It ain't the first time the beard's been bought out to be someone's stooge.

Quote Freddy Bentivegna(Banking with the Beard page 106):

"Fatty... he would launch into outrageous lies about playing in Chicago and beating some champion 50 games in a row, running 100 balls one-handed or going eight and out in 22 straight games.

Then the Fatman called on me saying, 'You don't believe me? Well, ask the kid. He's from Chicago. He was there when I did all that. Am I telling like it is, kid?'

Naturally, I never had the balls to dispute him and I would always meekly agree with whatever nonsense he was feeding the fold. I have never figured out how fats could get everyone to second his bull****."

"I can't fault Cannonball for not exposing Fats because I was guilty of the same crime. When I was a kid I got a $20 bite from Fatty at Johnston City."

You put together good books Beard, but I'd bet your taking some bites off the IPT now, just like you took bites off of Fats when you were a kid.
:D

It's always good to see that Italian :) MILE, but when he and the bandit are at their best you always hope its when they are playing someone else.
