Need some prayers...

I have posted an update, see page two.

I just got a call, my cousin was in a wreck with a semi today. He was life flighted to Charlotte. They said, he was not stable enough for surgery. Just a little while ago I heard, he was to go into surgery at 9:00 PM. His legs are very messed up.

To keep this pool related, he and I used to go play when I lived in Hickory. He is really a fun loving guy. He is also a preacher, of everyone I know, he would be the one to deal with this better than anyone(possible loss of legs). He has strong faith and a lot of optimism. When I lived in NC we were very close.

I am rambling, the short of it is, please say a prayer for my cousin if you are so inclined.

Thanks,
Tracy

I don't know the particulars, it could be. I know I-40 at rush hour, flows at about 80 MPH. All of my NC cousins are at the hospital and can not be reached. The info was sketchy and just trickling in.

Thanks to all who have responded, I appreciate it.

Sorry to hear about your cousin. I wish him the best of luck in his recovery.

You got it.

What a tragedy. The roads are really dangerous. Yet; I see people talking on their phones, reading papers and books, watching tv, grooming themsleves. I don't get it. I must be old school as I can only drive and not "multitask". You can always tell which one are doing something besides driving because they are driving slower or weaving around the lane.

Tracy,
Sorry to hear it. I didn't know you had lived there (I went to school in Winston-Salem). We'll say a prayer for him.

Tracy,

What a horrible tragedy! Know that your cousin is in my thoughts and prayers and so is his family and you. Take care.

Thanks to all that responded, and to those who cared and prayed without responding.

He is doing better, as I hear it. Yesterday around 11:00 AM, he was finally stable enough for the first round of surgery. They put five pins in the right leg. A spike (?) was put in the left tibia. He will later need knee and hip replacements. The pelvis was broken too. There was a severe cut on the upper left leg, which was the cause of him nearly bleeding to death. There was no trauma to the torso, so his organs were spared any damage. He will have a tough row to hoe, but I am sure, with God's help, he will be up to it.

Thanks again to you all. I am deeply touched by the all the caring responses and PM's. AZB members, you are a great bunch!

Tracy
