New evidence / Michael Surber

Hard to believe he has eluded capture for this long.

I hope (if he's guilty) they have enough evidence to convict.
 
If they know who he is they aren't saying because they seem to be relying on the public to see this guy and call the cops. Flowers said he thinks the guy has a criminal record but then the article says they can link him to other crimes. So it's unclear if they do know who he is. They seem to indicate that the guy is a suspect by virtue of the photos, but they do not mention if they have identified him based on fingerprints etc. in Mike's home or from the pool hall. If the guy has a record and they have his prints then they definitely know who he is, but they haven't put a name to this face yet, at least publicly.

I don't know why they wouldn't release his name, but I know they do strange things like that sometimes. I'm sure they know who he is.

Unreal that they don't even mention the website that has all the contact information for law enforcement. :rolleyes:

I guess all that secrecy wasn't so damn effective, was it?! :angry:

I sure hope there is stuff they aren't telling us because if this guy is a suspect just because of the videos they better have something else if they want to convict him. I mean they could find this guy and he could even admit that's him in the videos and none of it proves he did the crime. I hope they've got other hole cards.

Its like they dont want you or i to solve the crime,it will make them look bad,but when someone commits a horroable crime like murder,then it shouldnt matter who solves it,just get him off the streets,they are bad enough with out a knowed murderer running loose!

If you were this guy they are looking for,and you know you didnt do no wrong to MR.SURBER wouldnt you just turn yourself in, because if u didnt do no wrong,it makes no sence not to turn in.but you are right they better have more then what they are showing us,my guess is they do,or maybe the police are just hopeing that when they catch him his finger prints match up!

Well, if I was innocent but just happened to be in that pool hall that night passing through town (i.e. not a regular or part of the pool scene there or on the internet) I very likely am not even aware that someone in that room was murdered later that night. If that was the case I would have no idea the police wanted to talk to me. The only reason I know about this at all is because I'm a member of this forum. I've seen nothing about it anywhere else.

In your scenario where I am innocent, I have to A) Know there was a crime committed and, B) Know the police are wanting to talk specifically to me.

I tried to follow up with the information provided by WLOX but there isn't anything about the new evidence provided.. Is it posted somewhere? Is the new evidence going to be held private?

I thought when I saw this a few weeks ago an arrest was going to follow very soon. I'm happy to see they are still working hard on the case.

The arrest photos are beginning to all look alike. This is taken November 2010, a year after Mike Surber's murder. This guy is on the run, according to the article.

The facial structure, eyebrow placement, hairline, et cetera, seems similar to my eye. If somebody was on the run, they might shave their face and head to alter their appearance.

There was a sighting of the murder suspect after Surber was murdered nearby in another town where he was supposedly trying to lure a waitress to leave the premises with him and another lady.

If they have DNA evidence on Surber's murdered, I'd be checking this guy out while he's incarcerated.

Bond was denied for South, who is being held at the Florence County Detention Center.

South was described as a white male standing at 5'9" and weighing around 200 pounds. He has a bald head and a goatee.

Thanks searching for this guy JAM. I have been looking online for possible matches myself. I send any possible matches I find directly to the lead detective and he takes it from there.

My opinion is that you are looking in the right area. If you follow the timeline where the suspect has been sighted you can see he was travelling in an east to west direction. They couldn't find him in Atlanta so I'm guessing he was coming from the Carolinas or possibly the lower half of Virginia.

Lt. Flowers has expressed repeatedly that it is forums like AZBilliards and onepocket.org that are getting the word out on this Person of Interest.

The more that this photo is seen, the better.

Thanks for the kind words Joey.

I agree that the forums, the blogs and YouTube might produce the break that the detectives need to identify the suspect.

I found a very good program that would give a nice frontal view of the suspect. Since I didn't see the man I can only put in the information as I see it on the video. It would be nice to have a witness use this software and come up with a sketch to help ID this guy.
