Nude Avatars/BS

There seems to be widespread concern regarding the negative stereotypes of pool players which include allegations of sexism so why reinforce those stereotypes?

There is also a consensus on the necessity to recruit more people to the game, so why risk making large numbers of women uncomfortable? Bottomline- how many male AZers with families have pin ups in their home pool rooms?

Double..............Bingo..................lets save our smutty history once we're successfullllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll....why not????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????/

What's the point of having all the naked women Krap on the avatars'?? There are allot of kids out there visiting our site, I thought this was a BILLIARD WEBSITE. We all (kids too) get blitzed enough with todays marketing gurus, personally I feel it should be NOT be part of this fourum. I never see this type of stuff in BD or P&B magazines, why should it be here? If AZ is representing the billiard world via the Net, let the smut and sex find another place for its home.
AZ wake up!!!!

You sited the fact that you don't like to get "blitzed" by marketers, shouldn't you have just as big a problem with the ads running atop the AZ forums then, or people that post in the forums that clearly have an interest in marketing a product?? Instead you seem to have more of an issue with naked women and are using the "marketing" argument as a facade. Maybe you should question why seeing certain images is so awkward for you, most likely it's a problem with you, not the nudity.

You mentioned kids, what exactly is the negative effect of seeing a semi-nude woman for a kid? That's not rhetorical, i'd really like to know what you have to say about that.

I'm not saying we should be like other countries in every way, but realize in many parts of the world nudity is seen as far less offensive. And why should nudity be so offensive?? It is a direct effect of Christian values that makes us so afraid of nudity and sex. I just think we need to progress and realize nudity isn't all that big a deal. The ironic part is that the very people that have created values like this in our country are the ones that are so repressed that they tend to be pedophiles and closet homosexuals.

In my Stickman Leapfrog avatar, I thought that it was two stickMEN playing leapfrog. Then, I thought it might be two stickWOMEN playing leapfrog.

My wife thought that it was a stickman and a stickwoman, but she didn't know which was which. There's no long hair, no makeup, no body parts, no muscles, no shoes or jewelry, no nuttin.

What do you think ? A better question is what do you SEE ?

Doug

A stickman taking it in the arse!! Not that there is anything wrong with that, I guess.

I agree with Island Drive, no more nekkid sexy women in the avatars... and I mean it.
I'm offended and I think people should be required to wear clothing to cover their private parts and public hair.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but so is ugly.... imo
D.

You can't make someone cover it up, it's called public hair for a reason.

If you have kids, protecting them as they grow is a challenge,

A lot of anti-virus programs have parental controls, such as McAfee for one.

I tried to log on AZ with a new account I had setup for my wife and I forgot to turn off the parental controls, and the posts with bad words did not show up. I drove myself crazy for 1/2 hour trying to figure out what had happened to the AZ site, or my computer.:D

May I ask what your kids, or others, are viewing AZBilliards for in the first place?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A responsible parent should block what you don't want them to see.

I love looking at cute girls and you can turn the avatars off if you want, but I still think there is a common sense limit to what avatars should be on here. Anything that looks too "porn" should probably not be on here. There are 50 billion porn sites on the internet, this shouldn't be one of them.

It was almost embarrassing to see what people were typing in when TAR did their DCC broadcast if any female was on screen. A couple of jokes is fine, but endless sex jokes from a bunch of clowns makes any female uncomfortable after awhile and it always drives them away.

I like everything you had to say in this post. Most of us enjoy the company of the ladies, like to see them, be around them, talk to them especially since there are so few who enjoy the game of pool as much as we do.

It is a shame that we aren't smart enough to see that the "endless sex jokes" and the constant needling of the female poolplayers causes them to back away from the game and us.

Hopefully, some of the guys who offer this type of harassment will recognize themselves and realize that this isn't nice and will change their behavior.

What pisses me off more is people putting threads in the wrong forums when they are CLEARLY marked :)

Reading is good and fun, learn how to do it!

Tiger Woods wife

Joey,

You were kidding right? That's not Tiger Woods wife. It looks allot like her though. Do you know who it is? I'd like to see a few more pics even if they are not pool related. ;)

I have the avatars turned off on my computer because I think it is tasteless to objectify women. Without being able to meet a lot of people on here face to face - for those who choose to have an avatar like that - it tells me a lot about them or what to expect if I do meet them. It is just my opinion and obviously one of the minority.
