agree to disagree and visa/versa
I know Im fairly new around AZB and not many really know me so my facts and opinions may not count for much buuuut,,
In the 80's and 90's I did so many deals on Meucci cues, repairs, cue related items there's no way possible to count them all!!Good/Bad/Ugly and even Great!!!!and Im talking several thousands of $ per year for over 10 years!!!!!!!!!!!
Back then their customer service was second to NONE!!!!and every cue they made played GREAT!!!!you could get an Oldie with steel joint and open wrap(I had them all)change the ferrule/tip the day you got it and they played as good as ANY cue you could buy!(and still do!!!)and spend just under $600!!or you could get a european plain jane for just $140 and wear that sucker out for 20 years and go through 5 ferrules and 50 tips
Then sometime, someone there decided they no longer cared if we bought a cue from them OR if I needed to send $1k worth of repairs in!(if I did it could take up to 2 YEARS to get them back!!!!!) OR if I needed only to purchase an extra shaft, set of the original joint protectors(only purchased through them then)or any other item they sold!!They WOULD NOT even answer the darned phone!!!!!This is my main reason for getting into doing cue repair, and I will NOT take in a trade for a Meucci unless its a pristine ''ORIGINAL" cue even on a $75 piece of junk!!!
In conclusion:do I think they care about any of this????NO!!!
Will I ever buy, send repairs or even tell someone to?????NO FRICKIN WAY!!!!!!!!
I do however ''HOPE'' they are getting things straightned out and wish the entire Family and crew the best of the best.......
as far as their name it was always pronounced mu-chi here by bangers, noobs and nits!!I always said mee-YOU-chi!!Recently I sent an older shaft to Meucci for a ferrule replacement not knowing what to expect. I sent it regular postal mail as I live only a few hours from the new Mississippi location and I figured I wouldn't hear from them for a few weeks. 2 days after I sent it I get a call from Meucci to get the $30 payment and to let me know it's done and they will ship out the same day! I don't think it gets much better than that for turnaround.
Another aside. At Meucci they pronounce the name mee-oo-chi, not moo-chi as I've always heard. Anybody heard it pronounced that way?
