olive/coco

I'm bored at home with my 2 year old son, so i'm gonna post pics of a somewhat simple cue I completed about a month ago.

It's olivewood forearm with eight points cocobolo. The butt is cocobolo. Wrap is stack leather over a dense, straight grain koa handle. Rings are coco/ivory slotted with white & black phenolic accents. Joint is ivory sleeved over canvas phenolic, buttcap is phenolic. The figure in the olive doesn't show well because of the flash, but it nicely curled.

Nice cue. Did you do the wrap?

Thanks for the kind words, guys. And yes, I did the wrap. Wrapping cues isn't my normal cup of tea but I can do an ok job when I want to :)

I like the use of the canvas under the ivory joint...very nice work...and very smart work as well. Excellent as always Eric.

Nice

 Such a beaut. Nicely done Mr. Crisp. Gonna get me a ST one of these days.

Great work, QB.

Finally you have a piece of olivewood which works for you.

I think I am cursed with olivewood. :(

Marcel <----- no fate with olivewood. :(

beautiful cue

I sure would appreciate you considering me when or if you deside to sell it.Thank you

Eric, thanks for sharing, you know I have an affection for olivewod! Nice work on the stacked leather, not an easy task to get right!

Why would you cover koa? What does this weigh?

One reason I can think of is that straight grained Koa is very stable, and durable. The Hawaiians have used it for traditional surfboards for many, many, many years now.
