I loved the Blog. It's probably the most serious dissertation OMG has ever done. Her analysis of how she prepared for the match could be a chapter in an instructional book. She proves the adage that smarts count for a lot. And one thing I will say for OMG is that she is SMART!
I remember playing her once in Santa Monica. We played a short race (to seven I think) for the time. And we played even. I had her buried something like 6-1, and she won a game or two. I could see the fire in her eyes, and knew I better win a game quick, because she was not about to give up. I realized at that moment that this girl was a competitor. If there is a way to win, she will find it. And that's what happened in Vegas.
Oh, and I loved the video from Derek. I had no idea until I watched it just now, that I would be mentioned. I had many offers to bet this match, and kept declining them because I knew nothing about cubc. And I didn't want to bet against Melinda, especially after watching cubc run racks in his video. At the last minute in Vegas someone approached me about the match, after I had just blown a few bucks betting on Shane. I didn't really know the guy that well, but my nose was open and he offered me some tempting odds (3-2). But just like the video, I made him post.
P.S. I won that bet, so dinner's on me Mel next time.
