I give one pocket lessons.
I know the game as well as anyone.
I've got credentials. (successes)
I've got forty years experience.
I teach well.
I charge a lot. depends on where you are and how long you want lessons for.

bill...If I were you, I'd let your students speak to your "success", and ability as a teacher. It goes a lot further than, "I'm a good player, and I've got 40 years of experience". JMO I've seen many champion players who couldn't teach a lick...other than "you do it like THIS!" LOL

Bill, good luck with teaching, but to be a good teach you must also be able to learn. What you have presented here amounts to nothing, you must do much more than make a post on an INTERNET. Like others have said please have some of those you have had success playing post here and tell us who you are.

No disrespect Bill, but I for one do not know who you are.

Bill, happy to see your credentials are not in the marketing field. ;)
I will agree with you on your experience in the game of one-pocket.

With out question you have a tremendous amount of knowledge of the game.....but sometimes short
and to the point is not the answer.

Try listing some names of people you have given lessons to......like Scott said....just because you can play, don't mean you can teach.

I'm not saying you can't....just give more info about who you are.....that will help a great deal.
I know you personally....yes you played the game very well....you have a great deal of knowledge to share.

People just need to know more, and I'm sure you will get people taking lessons.
You're a great guy...I've known you for 25 yrs...wish you all the luck with this venture.

Maybe you're first customer can be Paul.....;)
Take care, good luck

Maybe people who are deep into 1 pocket are supposed to have heard the nickname JerseyBill? If you go by another name or nickname, don't be afraid to post it.

If you still aren't someone that anyone has heard of, I can't imagine why they'd pay for expensive lessons. Maybe you can name some of the people you've beat? Could you take down, I dunno, scott frost? grady? jose?

CreeDo...Again, it doesn't matter if JerseyBill has, or could, beat the players you named. What matters is what other people who have taken "lessons" from him think, and choose to say, or not to say. Without personal testamonials, someone's purported 'knowledge' and 'experience' don't mean squat. I certainly couldn't beat any of those guys you mentioned, but I'll stand next to them as a professional instructor any day of the week.

I'll trade you some marketing lessons for some one pocket lessons. I have an MBA and also 40 years of experience.

I've seen instructors who can't play a lick either, and I wonder why they are teaching.... Not implying anyone, just saying. If I were a person looking for lessons, I'd want them from someone who's been to the top of the mountain looking down, not looking up from the bottom.

Do you think that Terry Francona, Jim Leyland, Ron Gardenhire, Bobby Cox, Charlie Manuel, Tony Larussa, Ken Whisenhunt, Wade Phillips, Jim Caldwell, Brad Childress, Bill Belichick, Tom Coughlin, Sean Payton, Andy Reid, Norv Turner, Mike Brown, Mike Woodson, Stan Van Gundy, George Karl, Phil Jackson, Jeff Bower, Gregg Popovich, Jacque Lemaire, Pat Quinn, Ken Hitchcock, Pat Burns were someone who has been to the top as you wish for a pool instructor?

Well I sure as hell get a sore neck looking way up there in the clouds to find your place in the stack!

You be a ways up that hill... quite a ways!! :groucho:

Ted Williams reached the top of the mountain, but couldn't coach a lick. Earl Weaver couldn't make the first step up the mountain and was one of the best managers ever. It is nice to glean knowledge from someone that has been there, but it all depends on how they dispense that knowledge on whether or not they are a good teacher. Hearing from past students would certainly help.

I don't think Josh was saying that you need to be a former world champion to coach pool, just that a C player probably wouldn't make a good coach.

When I first saw the post and "I charge a lot of money" I thought it was a joke but I see a lot of serious replies.

Good luck Jersey Bill.

I knew an instructor in the shool of business where I went to college. I used to sit in class and wonder why this guy wasn't a wall street zillionaire.
I always wondered that, sometimes. ;)

So much negativity must mean somebody doesn't want competition.
I'm known well but mostly in the N.Y. metropolitan area. I'm not a scott Frost, but am at least an A player and on home court maybe A+. I'm sixty three years old so I'll play any sixty three or older _non champion or x champion in the country at one pocket. How's that for credentials?

IF what I presented amounts to nothing, WHY did you bother commenting about something you're not interested in. Are you just a knocker. If someone thinks it's not good for them, JUST PASS, I'll get students my way or not at all. And that's fine by me.
