I dunno, mon. He is so easily offended that I think there would be a very realistic chance that he would back out at the last moment.I don't agree. Danny can be controversial (like some other professionals) but I believe that Danny is a man of his word. I could be wrong but I don't think I am. If Danny commits, I feel certain he will be there.
I think that danny looks a lot like Danny Green

Black-balled, do you think Danny Green looks like Danny Harriman?
Do you think so? Gosh, I've known Danny Green since he was a pup, when he first came on the pool scene. I actually consider him a friend, truth be told, but I cannot see the resemblance between him and Danny Harriman.
I'd post Danny Green's picture, but I know he definitely likes to fly under the radar.![]()
To put it opoitely...**** no~!
To put it opoitely...**** no~!
I was going to post one up but then I thought better. Like when I played him at Orange Ball Billiards in a 9 ball tournament. Here's this guy flying around the table jumping up on every shot and Im saying, "There's no way this guy is serious!!!" Sure enough at 4-0 in a race to five I said your name is Danny right?? Danny what?? He said, "Danny Green.."
Right then I realized whom I was playing since I heard of him through David McCumbers novel Playing Off the Rail.
Danny Green is a really nice fella and a great player to boot. Im glad I got to play him
To go back to the point I do think there is a slight resemblance between the two Danny's but then again Ive only seen Danny Green a couple of times to countless times like yourself Jenny. Oh well![]()
Is that "politely" or "opiately"? :embarrassed2:
I was simply trying to show how generous of an offer TAR made compared to other sponsorships that are available to a pool player.
I don't agree. Danny can be controversial (like some other professionals) but I believe that Danny is a man of his word. I could be wrong but I don't think I am. If Danny commits, I feel certain he will be there.
You willing to put $6,000 and your reputation up that Danny will be there?
That is essentially what Justin is doing if he agreed to let the match proceed. If everyone purchased the PPV and Danny backed out, all of the payments would have to be refunded and there may be people who were trying TAR for the first time who wouldn't try again.
I know it wouldn't be a full $6,000, but I know that Justin would compensate Schmitty if he were to show up and the match didn't happen. I wouldn't be willing to do that if it were me. The only way I would consider a match is if both players put up refundable no show money, which John said he would be happy to do.
In summary: You and John have the BEST RIVALRY in pool going for you right now to take place.
Personally I like the SVB / Alex rivalry much better.......
Edited to Add: And I would love to see them match up again and again!!
Ever heard of prematch hype? This is free advertising, leading to more sales. Makes sense to me.
TAR ain't stupid.
By announcing this match challenge on AZB, it puts more pressure on both parties, especially Danny, to participate. If Danny declines, which he did, than he gets criticized by everyone on AZB for his decision (regardless of what factors influenced his decision).
I realize that TAR was trying to create prematch hype. But there's also an element of high-pressure sales tactics at work here too. By announcing this match challenge on AZB, it puts more pressure on both parties, especially Danny, to participate. If Danny declines, which he did, than he gets criticized by everyone on AZB for his decision (regardless of what factors influenced his decision).
That's why I commented earlier that it would have been so much better to negotiate this match challenge quietly using back channels.
