I own 3 coin-ops and one 9' Brunswick at my place (nope - it's not a real big place compared to most, but I have 3 more tables than anyone else in this area

). I frequently get asked to play whether on the coin-op tables or the hourly. If it's on the coin-ops, I stand by "loser pays" for the next game...if I lose a game, I open the table and "pay" for the next game.
If players want to play me on the 9', I don't normally charge for the table time...however, I do require no less than $2 a rack "bet"...most of the players know they'll get my best game if I have something to lose...and they have a "chance" to play for free. However, most of them have learned that by doing it this way they would have been better off just paying for the table time...it would have been cheaper...but not as much fun...
I say "don't normally charge" because most of my customers are near and dear to my heart...but there's a few that are like nails on a chalk-board...guess which ones have to pay for table time...
