I guess I was wrong. You must be right cause you are the better player. You have always come off as a classy guy on here and the one time I have met you. You must be real fired up for this tirade. Good luck in life.

Mike Athens

PS. There are alot of players I could give that spot to but that doesn't always make me right either and I wouldn't try and rub their noses in it.
most of the time i am but on this one i cant hold back the way i feel.im sure any real good player feels the same.

I don't understand why a player would be so tight lipped about information.

If you take a two night a week C level league player, and tell him/her every secret there is about pool, they will still be be C level player (C+ at best) unless they spend some serious time at the practice table.

If you release all of the secrets in pool in a book, 60% of players won't read it, 15% won't retain the information, 10% will diseregard it favor of another all encompassing system, 10% won't practice it, 3% will practice it but not enough to become proficient and 2% will practice it daily.

It doesn't matter what you know if you haven't logged thousands upon thousands of hours at the practice table.

The best you can possibly do as a teacher is set someone on the right path, while everyone else is lost in the woods.

That has to be one of the truest (is that even a word?) posts I've ever read here. Well said!

I agree this might be the best post ever written. I would modify your percentages, however. 1% would practice it once or twice. And .01% will practice it daily!

My only complaint is how little there is on one pocket.

When Chris gets back in town we will start working on a one-pocket racking video. The price will be $3,995.00. If you're not willing to learn it on your own, what's 4 grand?!?!?!? I can't believe this info wasn't included in Joes $39.95 video. If you're going to sell the farm, why not sell the whole farm? We are currently taking pre-orders.

Joes $29.95 video.

Let me give you guys a little background on this and would like to hear suggestions as to what you would have done had you been in my position at the time.

I learned this information from MYSELF but do have accu stats and mostly Grady for constantly paying attention to when the corner ball was going and asking many of his commentating partners as to why they thought it was going. Jeff Carter in particular (I found some old notes on RS that refreshed my memory it was Jeff) who said I'm not sure Grady but somehow i think that ball behind the wing ball might be moving first?

So those top players with their questions put me on a path to figure out how it goes or why it doesn't. I did that thru many an hr experimenting alone at the table, with no thanks to some secret hustler sharing with me.

About 2 yrs later (1998) after I had started teaching some very good players about it I submitted a 3-4 page article to a magazine explaining all of it for FREE. The publisher then contacted me back and asked my if I had enough info to form a book on the subject and from their the book was born. I had learned about many of the games but my 1pocket experience with the rack was limited so I didn't attempt to bs my way thru it
(as many a player are currently doing).

Should I have become a professional cheat and only share the info with others who intended on cheating and then I could have been proud to not be a snitch?lol

Also I just want to check at which point do I stop my current lessons? Before the draw info? or is that too early? Perhaps I can teach them about english but not show them how to use it and leave out the squirt part. Let me know so I can remain in good standings with the PHA
(proud hustlers association.)

Puleeze with this crap, if people learn and then get better than us it'll only be because they work harder at it than we did and they may have us to thank for speeding up the process.

I can't see where I'm not entitled to the fruits of MY labor.

All I can say is this thread made me order this video. Mostly because a few players here seem fearfull and upset about other players getting this information.

The more complaining by players like you the more sales Joe will get! lol

Anyway Joe I'm excited to get the video!!

Whatta 'splaining yerself fer? I'm selling the darn thing on my site that's how good I think it is. I'm glad I'm out of the hustling racket now, because I did used to like "adjusting" the rack once in awhile. That frickin' Joe stops all that.

Joe,

I agree with you 100%.

Normally when someone complains about the release of information, it's for 1 of 2 reasons.

1. They didn't think of it first and are not profiting
2. The info is ruining some angle they thought they had

You have and continue to be a credit to the pool community.

PS.....There was a Roy Pelletier sighting several months ago

I don't think you can call yourself a 9-ball player unless you have Joe's video, or at least already know the info about 9-ball racks that he presents. It's a definite advantage.
Mr H

Joe, based on a few of the replies, it looks like you know your stuff.......there is also another thread on your books.....I'm sold and plan to be a customer very soon....no harm in making a little coin from your long hours and years of experience....

I'll never practice to the point where I can beat the big boys, but it will help me improve and enjoy the few times I get to play, and that's all anyone can ask....

Just where do you get off, Mr. Tucker, selling a video with ALL the information that took guys years to learn? And for only $30 or so? Does it have to be SO informative?

In case you haven't noticed, this is a joke. Recently bought this video, and liked it. This is one of the rare pool aids that helps. In my opinion, this is one of the better teaching aid I have seen for pool. In all honesty, I knew a good percentage of what was in the video, as I have been a very serious player for about 15 years, but I did learn some new things, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting to. Hope you sell a billion of 'em, Matt.

You mean people cheat to win??? The nerve...
