Players not being paid at US Open

I am in the lobby of the Marriott in Chesapeake where the US Open is being held. Many players are complaining about being stalled by Behrman in getting paid. Kenichi Uchigaki missed his flight while waiting for his money. A Chinese player complains that he is still owed $1,500 from two years ago and cannot get Behrman to pay him. I have also heard that payment checks are post dated. I also understand that this is a repeat of past years in this regard.

I've known guys like Berhman that always make a certain effort to pay monies owed and fullfill promises and yet always come up just short

i feel with people like this you often have to overlook the bad for the good

I agree. Might smarten him up but doubtful. Great event, bad promoter. Maybe someone will run it better who has it in their hands next.

Don't the past champions get a pass on the entry fee?? Barry has said that a while back, there are some past champion playing, I'm sure that takes a good hit on the prize fund!

The players know this is an ongoing publicly aired soap opera and still continue to participate. While they are not at fault, by their participation they are as culpable as anybody.

Maybe Jay cut a deal and got paid before the event, he was adamant last year was his last.
