Pool Wars by Jay Helfert

I sent a rough draft (95% complete) to Joey for him to review. To date, he is the only person who has read this. I still have work to do to get it done, and then I have to find a printer/publisher to put it in book form. Freddie is helping me with this.

My goal once again is to have copies ready by DCC. I don't know how realistic that is, but that's my estimated ETA. By the way, thanks Joey for the nice review. I'm glad you like it. I feel the second half of the book is stronger than the first. Better stories!

is the book out yet?

Great Job Dave!

We changed covers, although I may use that one for something else. Check this one out!

Jay,
The new cover looks fantastic. I'm glad you let Dave Thompson take a shot at it.

Just ordered mine today. Thanks, Marissa, for putting it in your signature! I didn't realize it had been released until I saw that. LOL. :embarrassed2:
And THAT is why I put it there and I recommend everyone to do the same to support our own Jay Helfert :)

Holy Crap! were on page 22 already? Wow Jay, you got some pull around
here bud. Oh, and payment was sent out this morning. Thanks, Dom.

It is being printed as we speak. The first run is a limited edition of 500, that will be numbered and signed. After that the second batch is 1,500 that can still be signed but won't be numbered. I expect delivery of the first run to me in mid March and will be mailing copies out via USPS. So you're looking at 3-4 weeks for your book.

With over 200 copies ordered through this site alone you are already a best selling author. Congratulations my friend - move over John Grisham.
I will get round to purchasing one, just feeling too lazy to make the arrangements at this moment.

I am so proud to know a best-selling author!!! :)

Jay, do you like my new signature? (copied from Sweet Marissa)

Thanks Roy! You DEFINITELY will be in my next book! There will be a chapter on famous lock artists, and you're raising the bar. ;)

If I knew how to do that on my page, I probably would. I'm still a computer nerd. You wouldn't believe all the help I needed to make the book composition correct for the publisher. They would ask me questions like, "What operating system are you using? What format is it in?" DUH, what's that mean?

Anyway, my good fortune was having a next door neighbor Josh, who is a 27 year old computer whiz. He worked with me for over a month sorting out all the intricacies of preparing my book (with photos attached) for print. Turns out some of the old photos are not the best quality, but I prefer to leave them in anyway. Better faint old photos than none at all.

Josh read the manuscript for the book and went wild. He loved it and he is not even a pool player. He and his buddy (who makes skateboarding videos) want to make a movie out of it. I told him I don't really think there is a movie there, but we'll see. I'll just be glad if I sell a few copies. I am printing 2,000 total in the first run, 500 of the limited edition. Hopefully there will be enough demand to do a second run someday. Only time will tell.

Jay, you just do it like this:

Click on "private messages".

When you are at that site, at the menu to the left you can click on "edit signature".

Click there, and then add the text that you would want to be shown in your signature of all your posts. Remember to save.

I know you can do it!

Now you have me worrying! I hope the old photos that were "not the best quality" were not the ones Mike Haines and I sent you. :embarrassed2:

I think yours turned out okay. It is the "real" photos that I'm worried about.

Gee, now our photos aren't even "real!" :D

Please note my new signature and put me on the list of people to include in the "locksmiths" chapter of your next book.

Hey, you have added a signature!!!

And you actually have a website!!!!!!!!!! :D

Yes, Tim Thompson (poolroom.com) designed that for me. You don't think I actually could do that myself, do you?
