Was at a thrift market in Phoenix and came across this cue. Possible Rambow if I am so lucky. Cue is in rough shape.

I don't know if it's a Rambow, but since it's so rough I'll give you triple your investment and cover shipping.

Looks like it was made to be a bit longer by using longer ferrules and longer brass joint.

yeah, l-o-n-g ferrules.

and +1 on looking very Rambowesque.

I think you done good Lenny.

best,
brian kc

Very long ferrules indeed, and that whole thing on the front end is the joint? I figured there was a joint protector there. One long brass joint?

I doubt it's a Rambow, suspect more a Brunswick that was made a bit different. For one thing, most Rambows I have seen had linen wraps and quite short ferrules. However, not a complete disqualifier, This is one of the more interesting cue posts.

All the best,
WW

Big congrats to you, Lenny. Herman, Keefe & Hamer will be Chicago proud if this is a Brunswick titlist.
Gleason and Newman played with Rambow cues in the original "Hustler" and the white haired gentleman in that film (Mosconi) loved Rambow cues. He and Herman both worked for Brunswick. Get a top cue maker to bring it back to life. Love news like this.

Definitely looks like one. I'm not a fan of how fat the butt is on them, I hit with one and it's very off-putting to me but it also makes it very distinctive. Like hitting with a tree trunk.

Looks like a Rambow, I have one similar
This one looks very restorable, unbelievable thrift store find
Good eye

if i hadnt stolen the unknown cue.....i'd be calling you lucky lush....

some strange things for it to be a rambow, but old and cool and totally worth the 18 and change buddy.

the finds....they are still out there ladies and gents:thumbup:

You got a bargain no matter what. As for the particulars, don't make a move without an expert. There are a lot of "Rambow" cues that are not what they claim.

A Brunswick personalized cue is not a Rambow cue. Cues could be ordered with a name on them. That is not the same as a Rambow conversion cue.

.

it looks like a rambow to me

the joint does look strange in length ,but the script sure looks good

also it really didn't seem too rough, all things considered

i am glad to see you did well

Awesome find Lenny.
It's a nice Willie Hoppe Titlist, but not a Rambow.
4 glaring things to me saying it's not.
Still a fantastic cue though.
Congrats.

How to Authenticate a Rambow

Is there a Rambow expert anywhere that can actually authenticate a Rambow?

Tascarella authenticates Balabushka's

Chris Tate is our Palmer guy

Mr Hoppe (hasn't posted in quite some time) is/was our Brunswick Titlist man

Rambow ???

Paul Rubino

Deano Andrews

I picked one up years ago and it seems that when I was researching that Deno Andrews in Chicago was the guy

Deano is one of the guys.
He will charge $300 for an LOA,, and I don't think it's worth it.
Paul Rubino was $100, and I don't know Joel Hercek

my rambow was a skinnier butt
but most were fat

what do rambows sell for now?
i might be a buyer even without all the authentic verification contact me if you want to move it ,as is
